  1. I updated my AirPort Extreme a couple of days ago.
  2. Fun record, as is the next one. I was working for Delmark when we bought the Transition tapes. I remember taking the tape reels to Bob Koester's apartment (one block away) to play them on Bob's Crown recorder. They were beautifully recorded for the time. Sound of Joy is dandy too.
  3. Good idea only if Microsoft hadn't locked my old version. I can't edit Word docs or spread sheets.
  4. Friends inform me another Chicago pianist has departed.
  5. Not the best Willie Pickens I could imagine, but pretty good.
  6. So, my mac died a few weeks ago and luckily my back-up drive reloaded into my new machine perfectly. All has been working well for about 10 days. The old mac had "Office" loaded and worked ok. This morning I had an automatic Office update. The update disabled all my office files and offered me a new subscription service. i can't even edit old files. Question - if I delete the new "office" from my drive and import the old one from my back-up, will it work?
  7. Bringing back memories of Pete Welding, Bob Koester and the entire blues scene. Living through it, the recordings always seemed "behind the beat" because in the months it took to issue them, the music moved on.
  8. I liked it more as entertainment and must like him better as a comedian. Actually, his monologue on Saturday Night Live made me get the film on Netflix.
  9. Back to the record - this is probably my favorite Coltrane record - the rest of the band, especially PJJ, helped make it that way.
  10. Disc 3 - Symphonia Serena & Symphonie "Die Harmonie der Welt".
  11. Mitchell and Lake included. https://www.nytimes.com/2017/12/13/arts/music/best-classical-music-recordings-2017.html?_r=0

  13. I have that on a reel-to-reel release. Haven't played it in years.
  14. That's how it is in the complete Monk Prestige box. Not the only reason to treasure that package.
  15. I might take Ellington Victors 1927-1934. I could recreate everything else from there.
  16. Sure to miss something but right now, all from friends: Jaimie Branch Haven't had a chance to listen to Nicole Mitchell's recent release, but am sure I would place it here. Yves Charuest and Roscoe's MCA extravaganza and finally Mazz, Tomeka and Silvia
  17. I meant the Paris concerts - the band, especially Coltrane, is on fire.
  18. LOL. I have all the recordings and find the French material to be superior.
  19. First saw him with Cecil in the early '60s. I was clueless.
  20. This spectacular recording will be released in February
