  1. Had a quick conversation with Stan Getz at that very spot.
  2. All the Golson Prestige recordings are worthy;
  3. For anyone on the fence, this one kills -
  4. Direct to disc and a regular lp
  5. Discs 2 & 3 tonight.
  6. It is a Wolf image from a rehearsal for a May, 1952 session.
  7. The mono is much better than the stereo, especially for Elmo and Philly Joe. I love this date.
  8. An early inspiration.
  9. In the photo with Freddie McCoy, "Jerry Field" is really Joe Fields.
  10. This was a 2 cdr set. Not sure where to find one now.
  11. Wilson recorded 2 great trio sessions for Storyville which they spread over 3 lps. Instead of sorting this material out on 2 great cds, they mix this material up with PD stuff. Sad.
  12. Roscoe Mitchell turned me onto this baby -
  13. Good. Interesting recordings. Back in the '70s Clifford offered this material to me (In the office Cuscuna shared with Maxine Shaw-Gordon) and though I wanted it, the price was beyond me.
  14. Nomatter - a gazzilion is now back in circulation.
  15. Sorry to hear this. In my limited engagements with him, he stood out as a gentleman.
  16. We caught the Chicago event last year. It was a blast.
  17. You have obviously never produced a vinyl record for sale.
  18. Number 9 from this set. Possibly my favorite stereo set. I just bought this box to replace the Seraphim singles from the '90s. No sonic comparisons yet, but it sounds dandy and the 5 disc set only cost $13.99 on Amazon. Notes are limited and only in French.
  19. Hard to believe but I missed that one when it was easily available. Maybe Adam Rudolph can supply one.
  20. This version of the Columbia material is very inexpensive - https://www.amazon.com/Best-Louis-Armstrong-Hot-Five/dp/B0018BF1FY/ref=sr_1_23?s=music&ie=UTF8&qid=1510603611&sr=1-23&keywords=the+best+of+louis+armstrong
