  1. Cream Mates Dusty Rhodes Rhonda Flemming
  2. Met him in Chicago in 1966 and am still irritated.
  3. Now we might get a complaint that bikers are artists.
  4. A large loss.
  5. Sorry, I never connected with his music. Obviously he knows the instrument but I am left outside that world.
  6. Black coffee and an english muffin with home made jam.
  7. What happened to John William Hardy's ownership?
  8. A treasured face in my memory bank. Thanks.
  9. Fades started earlier but I can't find a starting point. From my experience, fades are called for by the artist. Maybe they haven't written the end of the arrangement or maybe the fade is the effect they want.
  10. Only then? I agree. Hot water soup has been a favorite for years.
  11. We all missed it. Lazaro Vega hipped me to it when he got a copy.
  12. Maybe "crusty" but he sent a thank note for paying him and a Christmas card.
  13. He also played with Charles Tyler and does double bass duty with Ronnie Boykins on Saga of the Outlaws. He was an interesting and kind man.
  14. The concept of "reissue" is often misunderstood by collectors. Blue Note probably pressed a couple hundred copies initially and repressed as orders dictated until orders stopped (or were too small to be profitable). BN #1 was continually available for a number of years and labels were reprinted with each press run. The first copies had pink and black labels. Your 47th Street issue is a late pressing of the original issue, not a reissue.
  15. I believe you should check out the SteepleChase recordings instead.
  16. Can't help but am happy to bump. I remember your avatar.
  17. A fine artist of his type.
  18. Found this in Buffalo last week. Never knew of it before.
  19. Damn you Larry. I have and like the Reiner, Kempe and Clemens Krauss recordings. I have been pleased with all of these for 40+ years. Now I have to devote time on this stuff to pick a champ. I decline. I have too much other stuff to do. I forgot I have Koussevitsky/Boston from January 1935 - the temptation continues. Crap, just remembered I have the '62 Reiner as well.
