  1. Thanks.
  2. I have been biting my lip for lack of a Roscoe Mitchell mention and am now startled to see my name mentioned. Dang!
  3. Just finished season 3 of Justified. Very interesting.
  4. You can get a decent sounding vinyl version for reasonable $.
  5. I thought he was singing a song.
  6. Can they play strict counterpoint in sonata form?
  7. So find another world. :-)

  10. Does anyone know what happened to this member? I always enjoyed his posts and he has not been on the board for a year.
  11. Whatever, though I think Craft is a man with many mirrors.
  12. There was a CT site but I fear it is gone.
  13. Jackie McLean Jaki Byard Byard Lancaster
  14. Cecil is worthy of any honor coming his way. Thank you Mr. Taylor.
  15. Best of luck. It is a wonderful session recorded at Rudy Van Gelder's.
  16. These were the original covers? I guess these sessions were the ones in the vaults then? Yup.

  18. Shame to see a founder dissed. That is only one of the bad things about corporate america.
  19. I don't think there's much lost on Lennox Avenue Breakdown and Illusions. LAB sounds 'very' organic to me. Can you also elaborate perhaps? "Production", mostly. Felt to me more like the music was being "presented" than "happening". Nothing wrong with that, it just seemed different to me at the time. Probably unavoidable. True from my perspective, Kept the Adelphi and none of the Columbias.
  20. Not sure of the "search" problems but the Hankster has been discussed on this board as much as any artist.
  21. All the best for the following years.
  22. Thanks Chuck. I totally agree with your take on the Columbia and later Muse material. I do like the ENJA album and th posthumous live material on HighNote quite a bit, and am a big fan of 'Blackstone Legacy' on Contemporary. I was also intrigued by your admiration of him as a person, and would love to hear more of that, as it is counter to the sense I have picked up about him from reading through the years. I certainly trust your judgement above my own received sense in that area. Don't know what you picked up "through the years". My personal contacts with him were limited to a few club gigs and a couple of times in his wife's office, but always positive. I do remember him showing me the proofs of the cover shot for Woody III and his love for his son. Not meaning to rewrite history.
  23. Holy crap... Now, and pedestrian by comparison: Louis Moholo/Larry Stabbins/Keith Tippett - Tern - (SAJ) I'm pretty sure ol' sidewinder has Homefromtheforest nearly beat on the rarities front (or at least they're neck-and-neck). as usual, Cliffie confuses scarcity with value.
