Have to admit I never "got" Clapton. By the time he was around I had a few years of listening to Muddy, Buddy, Otis, JB Hutto and Wolf in clubs.
edit for typo.
Here is the pic. This is copied from Facebook. Not sure how much I can get from there to here. The story seems to be that the band objected to paying the $50 fee (since the door minimum wasn't reached) and the owner's son hit the drummer with a fist full of keys.
As a tiny label owner, it has been really hard to compete for $ when so many of these imports are flooding the market. These issues are not burdened with artist and/or studio expenses. It is triply hard to sell a new recording or thoughtful reissue (at a break even price) when the market is flooded with bargain priced discs by big name artists without the same expenses.
Yeah!
And yeah! (Though most of it was on the old "Ear of the Behearer"... the remainder is - if memory serves me right - mostly "little instruments"-music).
and it wouldn't all fit.
My set was delivered today. The box is a bit sturdier than the previous issues - the discs are in jewel boxes rather than digipaks like the earlier sets. The printing and folders are disappointing to me. I will probably keep a couple of earlier issues for the print quality - the Vanguard scan sucks. Very mixed feelings about the set right now.
small typo edit
Bill was a "business/music" friend for many years. I am truly sorry he has this problem. I don't think I can "forgive". Bad for Bill, worse for others.
