  2. I should add, I was always interested in who came in later - the magazine usually listed the first ten. That year in the "Label of the Year" category my little operation came in 8th.
  3. The first thing I searched for is incorrect/incomplete! I search because it involved my work. In the 1978 Critics Poll there was a 5 way tie for Album of the Year - they were listed alphabetically: Akiyoshi/Tabackin Insights Ornette Coleman Dancing In Your Head Dexter Gordon Homecoming Dexter Gordon Sophisticated Giant Roscoe Mitchell Nonaah The website only shows Insights. I was really proud to do this well against the promo departments of RCA, Columbia and A&M. edit to add: I emailed this post to Frank Alkyer (publisher), and he responded "On the Critics Poll, I just looked that up and ... YIKES! Someone was working too fast. We'll fix it!

  9. Don't know what masterings they will use for the "new reissues" but the Fearless Leader, Interplay and Side Steps sets sound very fine and have interesting booklets.
