  1. Too bad Bill Mathieu didn't write for a band like that.
  2. Gazell was a label operated by Sam Charters. He reissued a number of Sonet titles.
  3. Is it on Gazell? If so, it's not a boot - just a reissue.
  4. May 16, 1975 - In Walked Sonny on Sonet. Sonny Stitt with the Jazz Messengers. This edition of the Messengers is Bill Hardman, Dave Schnitter, Walter Davis Jr, Chin Suzuki and Bu.
  5. Same thing with my copy. Has this ever been on cd on its own? To check the distortion I popped a cdr I'd made from my copy into the computer and the song titles came up.
  6. It does show. This can be avoided if folks would just go to Fast Reply.
  7. Kenny Weir is on my ass. He says you deleted the thread with my crime. Is that so and did you delete it at his request?

  8. I bought about 25-30 individual discs from the previous complete set. The earlier set included the EMI recordings and I bet they are missing from the new box.
  9. As I read it, some folks think the Plugged Nickle box fits the bill.
  10. Must be Gina.
  11. Shipta Sandwich.
  12. I know it was common practice in the 30s and 40s for the band leader to get writing credits when they had nothing to do with the composing of a song, 'Round Midnight is one such case. Wouldn't Hank Jones have copy-written the tune? I wonder how Nat thought he could get away with this. Nat would not have known Hank wrote the tune - he was just laying claim to an "unknown".
  13. My front is the same as Paul's and the back is the esp catalog in grid form - you must have seen some like it and the far right column is a listing of players and credits as in your scan.
  14. He's at least a snob. I have used it for a few years and love it. Someone misunderstands how this works. It is not direct from the turntable - connect it to the out terminals of your amp. I really don't think he investigated the product. If you want an example, I can send one.
  15. Bruyninckx says Feb 4, 1966. You must have an early "limited" version. Can you scan the pic on the back?
  16. Never saw that artwork. I will check what my copy sez.
  17. The whole Alison's Uncle thing was Nat trying for the composer royalties on this tune.
  18. Jane Wyatt? Had to google Father Knows Best for the name.
  19. How many in this group?
  20. Phillip Wilson's Esoteric on Hat (duo with Olu Dara). Next up is Phillip's Circle lp with Leo Smith and Johnny Dyani. Thanks to Leeway for sending me in this direction.
  21. Also Movin' Wes and Goin' Out of My Head.
  22. Gotta be.
  23. Thanks.
  24. This looks great, but I'm not sure if it works with a Mac. I emailed the company to find out. It does not work with a Mac. That's one reason I keep a Windows machine around.
