  1. Is that "ESOTERIC"? I have not even seen that one! Would love to though! That is the title. Olu Dara on board.
  2. Have that and Phillip's Hat lp.
  3. Our first grandchild (Eloise) will be born around that time. Need to be in Buffalo, but Ann insists we can do both. I am doubtful.
  4. Just keep them away from kids.
  5. I'm with you Fass, but Jim is cool too.
  6. Buy a real turntable (used) and go from there. All the usb units seem like crap to me.
  7. I would guess this to be the case.
  8. I haven't heard this one, must check this out. It's a double LP of a live performance in Japan. The record was issued in Japan. It's really good. Sonics are fine. A bit hard to find at the right price. Usually on EBAY for around $50. I finally got mine for $30, which I was happy with, as it was a US seller, so did not have to pay international shipping. You might do better if you hunt about. Worth it . The group is "all-in" on this one; very intense performance. Still have my lp set of this as well as a cd reissue Art Union put out about 10 years ago. I prefer the eq of the cd. Still have the lp and a French cd reissue of this too. Funny thing - Uncle Skid was here a couple of days ago and I pulled this out.
  9. If you are working with a pc the best deal is (as I have said many times before) this but you need a working tt.
  10. Looks like he caught a moth on stage.
  11. has 2 b
  12. Not when someone yells "Behind you!"
  13. He was 1 swave dude.
  14. Little Esther's boss.
  15. Woody was a great musician. Woody was a friend/acquaintance. Woody was a great trumpet player. Woody was not "out on the edge from the beginning". I love Woody.
  16. Duke He was my way in and will be my way out.
  17. Could be Little Esther.
  18. Looks right to me. These packages sound great. Thanks Hans. Ubu's correction seems correct.
  19. We will all die with many unanswered questions. And that might be the "HELL" some folks talk about. I know my father died expecting all the answers as soon as he left. The problem from my perspective was he didn't understand the questions.
  20. Bob Rusch had a stroke about a year ago - he's a very physical guy and I'm sure this was/is a huge mental deal for him. He called me about 2 months ago (to warn me about someone not paying their bills) and he basically sounded irritated by all this but also sounded same as ever. I'd really like to know abut the "new leadership" but can't afford to spend an hour on the phone right now.
  21. I'm with Lon on the Henderson-Ellington stuff. I understand the function of these pieces in concert, I just don't need to hear them on recordings.
  22. One of my favorite pickers.
