  2. Saw that this morning and was going to start a thread - just couldn't figure the right arena. Misc Music does seem correct.
  3. Tape a quarter to the lens.
  4. Olive is back.
  5. Kiss my ass!!! You grumpy old man!! You always have a smart ass comment for people's post if you don't like or agree with it!!! I agree with the post but found it useless. Please let us know why it is worthy.

  7. Jerry Springer Spring Byington Byther Smith
  8. You got a Liberty reprint and if you want to go to the mat with me about TBATAT let me know. My "real Blue Note" copy (not interested in stamper numbers, etc) was vertical and the "yellow" color was darker than any reprints I've seen. Bought the Nelson disc the first day it came to the store and it was the abstract one - Ollie's pic didn't show up for a couple of years.
  9. I just got goose bumps.
  10. OOPS! There goes about 90% of recorded jazz! ?
  11. Dennis Day Ted Knight Alonzo Mourning

  14. Most "jazz fans" are male. The only vocals they relate to are from females. I wish the thread was restricted to "players". There are some dandy ones. YMMV.
  15. Only dealt with him on the phone. He was tough/gruff but delivered when the money was "right".
  16. In the late '70s/early '80s Carpenter was Turrentine's manager. IIRC, he was based in Detroit at the time. I dealt with him when booking Stanley.
  17. That would be Wendell Marshall.
  18. I am a member here and post my own spam. It doesn't amount to much. I do thank the members responding, just don't think it is a big deal.
  19. He had an "interesting" political career.
  20. His mother used to call in at WGN anytime his name was mentioned on air. She was a strong woman and good mother.
  21. Great point. Sonny coasted when the situation allowed and after the '50s he exercised his '50s chops when forced.
  22. 'cept Gambit doesn't pay attention to the 50 year rule at all times.
  23. Legs Diamond Carmen Leggio John Legend oops, a post is gone
