Never heard the Machito but the 2 Tatum discs are transcriptions with audience noises dubbed in. I called Gene Norman on this and he "played dumb".

We take our own bags (canvas, made by Ann) and demand a refund from the stores. No trees killed, no petroleum used and sometimes we get a nickel back.

A couple of years back I emailed him to say my A&M tee had developed holes and I needed another. He didn't respond.
