  1. I was once called Stereo Jack-off by an irate customer. Geez, what did you do, sell him a stereo Monk's Music?
  2. Last time I looked.
  3. About a seconds worth of distortion? Demand a refund.
  4. ordered a couple copies of territory band 4 from okka which doesnt seem to be available for awhile. can i sub some of these? Not sure what your question is but I have 8 copies. You could get them from me. I can't answer for Bruno/Okka.
  5. I never thought the notes were read until the record was in someone's home. Do you read notes before purchase? For that matter, do you look at the friggin' label before you get it home?
  6. You've seen an aroused dinosaur?
  7. I told you they weren't in buildings. You are making this too hard.
  8. Well, thats nice but I have a great bit where I dance around a parking meter. All it would take would be unlimited pitchers of beer and a parking meter on stage. Then there's no need for really hot women so you guys can save your relationships/marriages and I can keep the tips.
  9. Strong, good human leaves us. We are weaker without her presence.
  10. This might be an extreme example but I've never engaged a writer to "sell the record and promote the artist". I ask folks I think have some special knowledge of the artist/project and have never edited content. Mack was a serious guy and having his "reflections" on the scene is worth more than any slight to Mr. Hopkins. Lightnin' had his money for the date and didn't give a shit anyway. Nothing wrong with that either.
  11. Admittedly, I've never heard the K2 release. I long ago stopped falling for the "remaster" hustle. In most instances, the original LP is best, and all the CD upgrades are just trying to get back to that. In most cases I agree with you but this is one of the very first dates that made a heavy "imprint" on my musical tastes and I'll probably try every variation. In this case the K2 remastering beats the original lp. Fewer than 100 titles make me search for remasters.
  12. Luckily you won't have to search in buildings. That narrows it a bit.
  13. Heading into the home stretch. Also for the few concerned Okka fans, their website is back up and running.
  14. Just sad.
  15. Jack, just compare the stereo and K2 versions of Crepuscule and come back to defend your name.
  16. I don't think that's what he meant.
  17. Not to mention
  18. That's the one I was thinking about, and obviously remembering incorrectly (as I don't own it). If you have ANY interest in early Ellington, find one. It is going away!
  19. This batch looks like an announcement from Collectables.
  20. This implies the Monk's Music session will be issued from the stereo masters. If this is correct, it is a huge friggin' mistake. The mono tapes sound MUCH better. If you care to hear Wilbur Ware (amongst other things) forget it. Those of you with K2s of this date, hang onto them.
  21. I have the vinyl too. I also have the cd but unfortunately it is dubbed from a pressing.
  22. Bet they remove the bonus material from the previous reissues.
