  1. First - Okka and Atavistic have always swapped cds to sell on their respective sites. Second - the Okka site was working about a week ago when I last visited. Third - I received an email from Bruno on the 10th of April. Fourth - if you need some Okkas, I can supply them too. Rod, Bruno bought a bar in Milwaukee a couple years back and now lives there.
  2. Bunch of them "needle drops" so I hear.
  3. Did they really ship the "working" cover or was this an internet thing? Doesn't really matter to me since I live with a JRVG version but I'm curious.
  4. Where do you get Insect Trust? Go to the friggin' doctor. This bugs me.
  5. You are responsible for the outer sleeves?
  6. OUTSTANDING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  7. There was more material from the X-75 sessions but not enough for a 2nd disc. Henry planned to do more later but the project was dropped. Not sure about the 12th St address but in the early '80s Air had a rehearsal studio at 336 East 13th, between First and Second Avenues.
  8. Didn't recognize you in drag.
  9. The five Taylor cds do not duplicate any performances but do contain multiple takes of some pieces.
  10. I'm sorry that race is part of the picture. Let's suppose she was white. I don't think a stripper with that history should be able to ruin the reputations of college students. And that might be too bad. We just don't know.
  11. Well?? How is it? Worthy of a reissue? ALL Ellington is worthy of reissue. You just don't need to buy them all.
  12. So how do you like the music?
  13. You should also try to pick up the 2 "Eminent Jay Jay" CDs on Blue Note: These recordings are a bit earlier than those on the Mosaic set, and also include some great sidemen, including Clifford Brown. While in school, a room mate called these "the Enema-ed JJ Johnson".
  14. Ellington's Cosmic Scene. Had to listen since it is being reissued.
  15. I thought this was a continuation of the Duke/stripper thread.
  16. All Verve "needs" is an intelligent reissue producer. They should send the singers to others and leave interesting new stuff to others. Oh yeah, they are already doing the latter.
  17. Conrad, please post to some music threads again. That would be nice.
  18. The Arista/Novus was an early failure. The Columbia dates have to be taken in context between the About Time/RCA series and the following dates. The "relatively" commercial slant of the Columbias come into a sharper focus "in context". Fear not. Henry will not disappoint.
  19. If they are reissuing the series with extra tracks added to the existing titles, I'll be pissed.
  20. Let me say if you are "sitting on the fence" and wondering if this is for you, it probably isn't. I don't want anyone to say WTF! I have occasionally said this to folks contacting me and think I offended one former board member. I'll sell the last few anyway. Re: Stefan's comment about the tight slipcase, I know this was a problem and have about 500 extras. I'll send a new one if you pay the postage. It seems to be a variable in the gluing.
  21. And how does the cat stuck behind the wall tie into all this? I hear the cat already has a movie deal. Are we talking about Tom Cruise? A rape conviction might help his rep with some folks.
  22. Your friend caught a virus from a trojan?
  23. I'd have thought curling would be your sport.
  24. Great idea. Henry has definitely created his own musical world. Not much valuable "pre-Air" but I recommend Muhal's Young At Heart/Wise In Time. Search out the About Time dates. They are all fine. Then buy the rest. I just read your post in another thread where you said "Threadgill is sort of hit and miss with me" so I guess the above won't be of much help.
  25. Sadly my hair is using an exit strategy.
