  1. I listened to Saga of the Outlaws last night. I miss him.
  2. How much of that is duplicated in the Mosaic, Chuck? ← None. The Mosaic contains all the Brunswick/Vocalion sides and the BF box collects the Autograph, Herwin, Black Patti and Broadway masters.
  3. I really enjoy the 3 boxes devoted to Bobo Stenson.
  4. I don't like his teeth.
  5. I think I know what you meant. I agree. I do not prefer Evan on tenor by a mile. Nothing wrong with the tenor though.
  6. If it isn't opinions we "disagree with", what's the point. I only learn when folks offer intelligent oppositions to my opinions.
  7. Yeah but you prefer Louie to Sonny - you are disqualified.
  8. Not a fan of Joanne (as a musician) but you don't know what was being repaid (financially and emotionally) in that settlement (if it is true). I do not think we need to go there.
  9. Might be an attempt to establish a new copyright. Just a guess.
  10. These are the same masterings as the current US RVGs. The Sonny Clark is the only set with any masterings not currently available.
  11. No notes.
  12. Since Jim opened up Shepp territory I suggest Fire Music and/or Mama Too Tight.
  13. PS; shitloads of bad reissues have been made from "best obtainable sources".
  14. In Sweden. They don't have anything resembling the masters. The real answer to Dmitry's question is complicated - that's why I made light of it, since I don't have the time to sort out the details. I'm sure the Ambassador series is nice but "best obtainable sources" ain't the best possible source.
  15. Add Mingus, Mongus, Mangus, Mungus, Mengus. You get the idea - if you want that thick ensemble sound. Two more slots to fill.
  16. You must be talking about players in NY. How provincial.
  17. Brown is no different than current players. That's why I don't care about the NBA anymore. Bunch of money grubbing chumps.
  18. Barry still sounds fantastic. I wish he was more visible on the current scene.
