  1. Around the same time ('70s) Bob Porter issued 2 lps on his Phoenix label by Bill Harris and Charlie Ventura. This stuff is from the Three Deuces in April of '47. The pianist is Ralph Burns and Dave Tough is on drums.
  2. You mean like this one? ← 'cept that one.
  3. Wonderful musician and from my experience, a first class human. Thanks for the beauty you gave Mr. M.
  4. I'm sure YOU can find someone to supply a burn.
  5. After the KOB book I received a call from Ashley Kahn telling me he was doing the "Love Supreme" book and he had a couple of questions for me (since I'd actually heard Coltrane in person ). I said "Of course you are". Months later when I had the opportunity to shake his hand, he hesitated and went away.
  6. So, I'm supposed to feel guilty?
  7. I spoke with Scott Wenzel from Mosaic in late June and he said that Mosaic will be releasing it on vinyl. ← For really good vinyl sound, this will have to be a 2 lp set. 51+ minutes is short for that at current vinyl costs.
  8. Don't think you did much more than wet yourself 10 years ago.
  9. Am I the only person bothered by the language of the TOPIC? I'm sure I have used the word in posts but in the topic, I find it jarring.
  10. More than "kind'a sad" folks have to cling to a bad recording to get a gig.
  11. I'm afraid of the "masterpiece" label given to a number of recordings. ALS and KOB are great records praised beyond their siblings in comparison with a bunch of stuff "nobody" knows. It is the news/promotion game and we may like some of it but it is still "fluff". Can't wait to discover the next book by Ashley to discover what to bow down to next. Can't wait 'til he decides on the Cecil Taylor recording to exploit.
  12. Don't Downtown Music Gallery and Omnitone stock them as well? Guy ← I believe they buy them from Cadence.
  13. My first copy of Blue Note 7 46817 2 contained the wrong music on the disc - some really bad pseudo-classical crap. I hope no newbies got this one and swore off LeMo forever.
  14. And he's a wonderful, amazing guy.
  15. Fans of Nine To Get Ready and Song for my sister should check out The Bad Guys with Wadada Leo Smith on board. This is a concert in Italy from July, 2000.
  16. Thanks for the links. Unfortunately, only the Buck Owen's link works. ← The Clayton link works for me.
  17. Don't got it. Has not been available for a few months. I'm pretty sure it will be repressed and probably repacked in a jewel box.
