  1. Chuck Nessa

    Jelly Roll?

The JSP set omits the two 1939 sessions - 12 tracks total, counting the alternates.
  2. Is this what you were talking about?
  3. Fair enough. What Mr. Russell said.
  4. Is that the "fictional" biography? I've never come across it and haven't been compelled to search it out. Is it worth tracking down, taken for what it is? It's a fascinating "case study". Trouble is I can't decide if the "case" is Marsh or the author.
  5. That's exactly why I asked the question. AND the situation is further clouded by Out Of Nowhere.
  6. Very fine listening ahead. Please provide feedback on the records AND the book.
  7. Yes he played flute frequently in the '70s.

  9. Boy, I hope to come back (no time now) but MASSIVE SHOES is beyond my ability to comprehend.
  10. Is it the day after Thanksgiving in Spain? These time zone issues confuse me.
  11. DAMN! I got a bunch of work done. Now that's in jeopordy.
  12. Fantastic idea for a thread.
  13. The original idea behind the series was to issue "limited" editions of less popular titles.
  14. Rather than take "even more" advantage of Jim's generosity, I won't do that. Anyone interested in "word file" lists of my offerings should send an email to me at cnessa@earthlink.net. Thanks again Jim.
  15. Hey, I love checks. Not a problem. I have not had a bounced check in over 10 years so I never hold an order up to wait. Guess I'm in trouble now. B-) I signed up for a PayPal merchant account today. It takes a couple of days to verify the bank account info 'til that is a "go". My MC/Visa account is still good 'til the first of the month and maybe a month beyond that. I expect the Diz/Bird to hit the door in the next 10 days, have a new Okka/Brotzmann, the catalogs of Uptown and Okka Disc AND Nessa recordings for sale. Thanks to all Organissimers (?!) for the feedback.
  16. How many cutout holes can an album have before you have to give it away? (old bottom feeder's joke) Reminds me of a story from my retail days. I had opened a new store in Bloomington IN for a chain called Discount Records (this was 1968). I had given the local Capitol salesman the largest order ever placed with their local office (in Ohio). A month later he called to say his boss wanted to have dinner with me and could we meet. I said ok and we met on the appointed date and had a wonderful meal and suitable beverages. At the end of the meal the "boss" asked about the quality of service from the salesman and I said "He's great! I really like the advance copies he delivers, with the holes in the corner, so I can hang them on the peg-board behind the counter. I don't mind paying cash for these records since it gives me an advantage over the competition". Took these boys a while to regain their composure.
  17. Elephants Gerald. B-)
  18. Twice removed and thrice returned sounds like a Buddah release. (old record retail joke).
  19. I see this whole event has had an unfortunate influence on your desires.
  20. I was speaking of "old organs" seen by passing schoolkids. Geez.
  21. In most neighborhoods someone would file a complaint and have the person arrested.
  22. And his name is Ahmet.
  23. In 1970 Pathe Marconi (EMI) sent me a set of films (printing negatives) for their cover design. I altered the front some and created a totally new back. Universal Sound used my cover. They paid me 100 cds for the right to do this! The Pathe cover included a photo of a couple in bed (lower right quadrant) and different type composition in the upper left.
