  1. I bought Vol One a few years ago and when I tried to order Vol 2, it was out of print. I recently bought the 7x7 book which is a combination of both volumes.
  2. I was just watching some of the classic 39 episodes of the Honeymooners that just came out on DVD. Seems like they get funnier each time, I see them. Carney and Gleason were the perfect team. RIP, Ed Norton!
  3. Best Wishes for a Happy Birthday to our old pal from the Blue Note Bulletin Board and Lifestyles of the Rich & Famous. Lots of Good Cheer & JRVGs!
  4. I just caught the last of this program. Here's the hype from WGBH FM's site: Monday,Nov.10 -7 pm, WGBH 89.7 Host Eric Jackson features new limited-edition boxed sets from Mosaic Records, including those of Gerry Mulligan,Randy Weston,Paul Chambers and John Patton. THE COMPLETE VERVE GERRY MULLIGAN CONCERT BAND SESSIONS is the culmination of Mulligan's long search for the "perfect ensemble"that would bring his ideas to life. Over the course of 20 years, Mulligan gathered musicians for his Concert Jazz Band, which was lauded for the unique, pianoless arrangements featured in this collection. Randy Weston, Paul Chambers and John Patton are other artists featured in box sets from Mosaic Select, a new series that focuses on numbered and often overlooked jazz recordings. These jazzmen may not be widely known, but the work of each has left its mark on jazz............ Join Eric Jackson as he explores these and other eagerly awaited Mosaic Records reissues. ************************************************************* ---- This is a five hour plug for Mosaic and I hope it brings them many new orders and customers---
  5. I'm happy to hear that you got the set. I hope that you will enjoy. I have this set and highly regard it. One of these years maybe we'll see a Mosaic version on cd!
  6. I've come off 4 months of chemo therapy during which I lost most of my hair ---everywhere. I didn't have to shave in all that time. Now that the effects of the treatments are wearing off, I'm starting to sprout chin whiskers and even re-growing my moustache. I've been using the Mach 3 for the past couple years and have resumed using it. However I'll soon be starting radiation and they tell me I can't shave with a manual razor so looks like I'll be in the market for an electric job soon! Any suggestions on a descent electric razor anyone? Not looking for anything exotic as after the radiation is through, I hope I can go back to the Gillette product.
  7. Some UK imports: Sergio Mendes-"Very Best of Sergio Mendes & Brasil 66" Lennie Tristano-"Intuition"(Proper Box) Discs 1 & 2 and some other imports: Buddy De Franco & Louis Hayes on Vee Jay
  8. Aprox. $17.15 currently.
  9. I've been doing business with Mosaic for about 9 years now and they've always shipped UPS and usually I get the sets within 2-3 days. I have had two shipments get lost in all these years and Mosaic has been super with their service to replace lost or stolen shipments!
  10. Jimmy Smith-Six Views of the Blues Gerry Mulligan & Thelonious Monk-Mulligan Meets Monk Red Mitchell & Warne Marsh-Big Two Vol 1 Clifford Jordan-Glass Bead Games

  19. Why doesn't anybody post on the Blue Note Board anymore? I've been really lonesome over there for the past 8 months!

  21. Yes what was her favorite color again?!!
  22. Dusty Groove sold it for 11.99. Its been my experience that they re-stock items pretty quickly. Hello Catesta, how are the sitar lessons going?
  23. Yes, Indeed!!!
  24. I am anxious for the Eldridge set as I don't have a lot of his music in my collection. I also look forward to the Amy as I am happy to have Katanga on the West Coast Classics series and hope Mosaic will continue to release more of these fine WC artists.
  25. Not only for the 'retail' distribution policy, but the large number of sets being made. I don't recall any other issues being 'limited' to 10,000. BTW, as far as OPs organ playing, don't expect a "B-3" sound. I don't know how to describe it, it's a bit unusual, but it works in context. It would be interesting to hear why that instrument was chosen for those sessions. This same statement was included in the info for the recent Mulligan set.
