This evening:
Don Friedman Trio-"A Day In The City"
Don Friedman Trio-"Waltz For Debby"
Stan Getz-"Bossas & Ballads:The Lost Sessions"
Earl Hines-"Plays Duke Ellington"
I count the Mosaic set as one of the best. I love this music and over the years have bought many of his recordings that I have duplicated much of the material.
Nevertheless, its all wonderful music that I find myself returning to often.
Wayne Shorter-Adam's Apple
Buddy Rich & "Sweets" Edison-Buddy & Sweets
J.J. Johnson-J.J.'s Broadway
Jack Teagarden-Mis'ry And The Blues
Teddy Wilson-Cole Porter Classics.
UPS just dropped off my copy of this set(Serial #54). Its been so long, I hope I remember how to run my turntable With this set shipping now, can the Mulligan CJB set be far behind?
Dianne Reeves, "A Little Moonlight"
Gerald Wilson Orchestra, "New York,New Sound"
Stacey Kent. "The Boy Next Door"
Tim Armacost, "The Wishing Well"
Teddy Wilson, "Cole Porter Classics"
It's nice to see Weizen back in action. The last note I got from him washed up on shore in an old Ripple bottle. I hope he's well refreshed after some serious R & R, which in his case means Ripple and Ravi Shankar!
About 10 of her big band recordings on RCA/BMG have recently be remastered and re-released in Japan. They were available from Dusty Groove and I bought some of them through Mr Tanno at Early Records.
One of the top ten Mosaic sets based on the quality and selection of music. Its a time capsule of great music that will probably not be available anwhere anytime soon, if at all. Its an expensive proposition, but one that will be worth it as you get deeper and deeper into the set!
