  1. I'm only a few tracks in after I hadn't heard it in years, but I think people here would dig this one.
  2. As good as I remembered it being.
  3. I stumbled upon this in a Half Price Books years ago for $1. Inside the booklet, Bobby Few had inscribed it to a Cousin Ellen.
  4. I expect the same people who have propped him up for the last 4 years to do whatever is politically expedient, which will involve catering to an ignorant base that continues to be in the thrall of a charlatan.
  5. For some reason, I expected it earlier than this and not quite in this form. I don't know how or if the country can approach any kind of normalcy after this.
  6. I found a signed copy a few years ago.
  7. I didn't know about that one. The Gillespie quintet with Schifrin and Wright will always have a special place in my heart, with Gillespiana/Carnegie Hall Concert being my first jazz album. Now playing:
  8. Released on DeFranco's own label. I received my copy today, autographed by DeFranco for someone named Roy.
  9. Joshua Breakstone - Japanese Songs, with Lisle Atkinson and Al Harewood: I picked this up after catching Breakstone's Blakey tribute in 2019(?), which seems like a lifetime ago.
  10. Dang. My wife and I were only there twice, catching Steve Kuhn's late set with Buster Williams and Joey Baron two nights in a row. It's a nice club.
  11. Man, Potter was on fire for Friday's set. Of course, having seen him as a leader and a sideman on approximately 10 occasions, I've never seen him be less than excellent. Great band, too. I may have to check out Marcus Gilmore's solo set that's available from the Vanguard.
  12. Thank you for the music, Mr. Wright, and rest in peace.
  13. The Frank Kimbrough album led to: The sides with Kotick and Roach. The tracks with Philly Joe.
  14. Anyone else plan on catching Chris Potter's Vanguard stream? I saw the same group years ago except with Eric Harland on drums instead of Marcus Gilmore. It's worth noting that tonight's set will only be available for the customary 24 hours, while tomorrow's set will be available through Sunday.
