  1. Dinah - as I recall - maybe 3 Little Words?
  2. go to Stereo Jack's in Cambridge, Massachusetts -
  3. got ya - I've always had problems with the Sumerian language - ever since I translated all those Dead Sea Scrolls into Pig Latin -
  4. wait, that makes no sense - if you are only listening to discs 5 and 6 than it's the partial HRS sessions - to listen to the complete you would need multiple cd players - am I the only guy around here who's paying attention? This has happened before -
  5. I didn't know that Tom Hayden composed -
  6. I actually don't know; the problem with that album for me is that it comes off as all soft focus -
  7. well, as Ralph Cramden said to Alice, "I'm the King and you're nothing" - and she said "so you're the King of Nothing."
  8. ahhh, I think they went soft on Abbey Road - too pretty, never could listen to that one - the White Album was always, to me, their pinnacle -
  9. I have never been in a half-way house - they don't have any for Nigerian royalty like me - though I have thought of starting a half-way house orchestra -
  10. I like Jo Stafford a lot and included her version of Baby Won't You Please Come Home (with the Metronome All Stars) on my blues set - (is there anything that's NOT on there?)
  11. I can't follow all these copy and paste arguments.
  12. well, I've had my problems, but since I stopped taking the the meth amphetamines and carrying a glock, everyone seems to be showing up to rehearsals. (gonna have to ask Kleck about this)
  13. minds (it's a gift I have) -
  14. well, here it is, the end of the summer, and not only have I found a good and reliable (and young) bassist but I rehearsed today with a drummer, too - and I am flabbergasted. The kid can't be more than 20 and he's one of the best drummers I have ever heard. And I now have an actual band, something I have not had in 15 years. I TAKE IT ALL BACK! I LOVE ALL YOU KIDS OUT THERE! this is scary. Something will go wrong soon.
  15. just a sonic observation - been playing Revolver, the stereo version, on my system - seems to be lacking in mid-range (between 500-600 hz) - anybody else notice this?
  16. I have the LP - nice session.
  17. nice thought, though unfortunately I have the feeling there are too few people who remember much about him -
  18. I think the White Album is the best -
  19. sorry haven't been there in years, though I like it a lot - look out for a very fine tenor saxophonist named Bob Rockwell, a transplanted American who was gigging there in the 1990s, as I recall - excellent player, don't know what ever happened to him -
  20. happened to Allen Funt, too - and Al Capone -
  21. biggest revelation in years for me was the 1952 Harmonica Frank recordings - would buy them if they were available anywhere -
  22. it took me years to figure out that The Great Mandala did not refer to Nelson -
  23. Oliver Jackson used to complain about working with Garner, that on-stage his manager put a spotlight on Garner and kept the rest of the trio in the dark - "I couldn't even see to get up and go pee."
  24. no telling who was playing what on certain things; Paul played A LOT of the guitar solos that were credited to George. And rumor has it that George Shearing (who is British, after all) played the piano parts for the rooftop concerts. I always wondered about the block chords on Get Back -
