  1. well, if they're anything like your GIF's... -e-
  2. eric is not only a top-flight player, but a fine young man as well. i had the pleasure of spending an evening sitting through some music @ smoke with him at the same table once, as we're both from the same part of the country. he can play it all - from driving challegne and suprise to beautiful ballad. enjoy! -e-
  3. i own 'latin shadows' and can't for the life of me recall shirley singing... IF she does, it's the chorus chant of 'soul souce' at an almost inaudible level. -e-
  4. i'm the only person i know who can listen to "coltrane at birdland" followed by a morricone soundtrack punctuated by devo's "duty now for the future"... -e-
  5. good memory... it was for --- -e-
  6. forgive me, it *is* saotome... the work i posted is among what i consider the least of his work. he illustrates a page in swing journal each month that way surpasses this coverart. the current december issue has a bitchin' miles 'n' cannonball from 1958. it seems michiharu-san's work is less graphic than DSM's, but is cool nonetheless. hey, thanks for the warm welcome everyone. now about that herbalife... -e-
  7. sure, sure. i won't let intimidation get the best of me...
  8. ...and 3 more. respectully, -e- ----------------
  9. i saw your avatar and thought it pretty cool, too. of course i'm a DSM fanatic... but have you ever cheked out the work of MICHIHARU SATOME? his work is very informed by stone martin's. below are 3 quick, if not fancy, examples. -e- ---
  10. hey all, not to worry - chuck's unloaded on me *plenty* of times on usenet...! , -e-
  11. ----- oops... vicj61103 (i've alot of red here) -e-
  12. ------- howdy, just a note that this title is available in a very choice japanese mini-LP as part of a red garland series that i picked up last year. it's catalog # is vicj61102. regards, -e-
  13. ...which guy?
  14. i'm really digging the energy. PLUS it's quite the slow work day. i'll jump off into individual thread posting tomorrow bringing my particular thang into focus, but until then... now playing: eric alexander: 'gentle ballads' (venus)
  15. the *groper*? that can't be good... thanks, -e- ps: i dream of starting a new coverart/GIF thread!
  16. oh i am so lame...
  17. = gwoovy (read in elmer tone, please)!
  18. just a note that i also happen to be an herbalife distributor, for those who may find interest. * --------- * my 1st attempt at "inside joke"?
  19. uh, no. i haven't been to the politics forum. yet... uh, no. i haven't been to the politics forum. yet... <deja vu all over again> those flash-ani cover mutations are freaking *brilliant*. i'm up to the 'let 'em roll' + 'whipped cream' creations and i'm laughing so hard my co-workers must think i'm on something. -e-
  20. dude...! amazing, -e- ps: a how-to?
  21. one more note - the creative use of graphics here *kills* me. especially the animated 'monks music' cover!
  22. as to the name, leeway's close. as chuck may recognize, i'm taking refuge from the usenet bombast and attempting to find intelligent life among yous. the posts here are of consistent high quality and something i feel i could contribute to on occasion. any group who intelligently discusses the merits of 'songs i like to sing' + 'oblique' (among many) is one i'm at home with... -e- ps: i'm on a horst jankowski kick as of late.
  23. hiya - just a note to say hello to eveyone. i'm new to this forum and wanted to express my appreciation (after lurking for some time) for all the teriffic AOTW suggestions. most recently the helen humes title, which is a stone gem. anyhow, regards and happy holidays to all! -e-
