  1. The Complete Verve Johnny Hodges Small Group Sessions 1956-61, discs 1-3

  3. note: this is part of Windows, not an aftermarket program. And you also can access it if you go to the start menu/programs/accessories/system tools/character map. If you want, you can copy the icon from there, and paste in on your desktop or taskbar for easier access when you need it.
  4. The truth is now out--I only joined organissimo because I'm a member of Allen's street team, "hired" to promote his new CD (sort of the jazz bulletin board equivalent of a sleeper cell).
  5. Alas, those rugged good looks are not mine.
  6. A more pertinent question is: who is this man? And, who sat on his lap to take this photo?
  7. By the say, here's what Larry looked like in real life when he wasn't stoogin' out:
  8. Well, let's see: the expiration date on the driver license (1/24/75) happens to be the same date as Larry's death. Is it a gag? Or was the California DMV just amazingly prescient?
  9. Something with minor scuffage.
  10. You're lucky I don't know how to use photo shop, otherwise I would have conjured up the image you described. That's hair like Larry Fine if he'd had a comb-over.
  11. Joe Farrell plays tenor and soparano sax--and flute--on Jaki Byard's 1965 live recording at Lennie's-on-the-Turnpike (happen to be listening to "The Last From Lennie's" right now ).
  12. Not a sax per se, but Art Pepper also occasionally played clarinet.
  13. It really varies quite a bit. If you call Mosaic, they may be able to give you better guidance on this particular set (based on how many are left, etc.)
  14. Hey, in America, it was only extended to protect the MOUSE, so it only makes sense that they'd do it in the EU to protect the Fab Four. BTW, I've been telling people that this was going to happen at exactly this time for exactly this reason. This should not surprise anyone. Money always talks. But money can't buy me love.
  15. (Help the economy--pull out the ol' credit card. )
  16. There are a couple of vendors on the Amazon Marketplace who have it for less than $45, but not Newbury (theirs is $69). Thanks ! Except the cheaper sets aren't brand new. The Newbury set, like the other remaindered sets it's selling, is brand new and factory sealed, with a remainder mark through the bar code.
  17. Sounds like your next step is to sell all your vinyl, and pick up original acetate and lacquer discs and wax cylinders.
  18. Yep. Worked out about $6 shipping to the UK, per set (not really a combined shipping but flat rate per set). Still a bargain ! The Pepper and Evans sets were $49.99 each. :rsmile: And speaking of remaindered Fantasy box sets at Newbury Comics, you know they also have the Dolphy Prestige box for $59.99: http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B00...4308&sr=1-1
  19. I know, it wasn't a daytime show, but still....... Not quite what I had in mind, but definitely a winner.
  20. Oh, PLEASE! We all know that in the entire history of daytime television, there's really only been one soap opera truly worth watching.
  21. Welcome! And I'd think twice about changing your handle to JazzLobster, by the way, 'cause this is what those guys had in mind:
  22. Not in public, I hope!! ....just kidding! Yep, I have an old copy of the set but figured that a spare copy for what works out around £10 for the back pocket would be worth adding. An excuse really though to order the Pepper Complete Village Vanguard and Evans 'Last Waltz' bargain boxes from Newbury too. Yes !! Newbury Is The New Zweitausendeins ! You got those through Amazon Marketplace? Did you get them to combine the shipping cost? And if you did, how?
  23. or math. or myth. or even meth.
  24. That was soooooooooooo.... nerdy. You know you wanted to make Troi's toes curl. I always preferred Beverly Crusher. I guess it was that female doctor thing.
