  1. My experience with him was fairly decent. In fact, that was the first of the 3 October Philly gigs I was able to nail down. The only difficulty I encountered in dealing with him is that he's only available to discuss bookings on Monday evenings. By the way, I see from my notes that he offered me October 8th (along with the 12th and a couple of other October dates) when I spoke with him in July, and he told me at the time that there would also be a DJ on that date. We did agree that there would be also be a local band on the bill for the 12th (since organissimo had not yet performed in Philly and a local band could help be a draw). The band he scheduled as the "warm-up" for organissimo on the 12th is Dr. Ketchup, a jazz-funk group that should fit well with organissimo. You can hear some samples and read about them here. (Sorry, John--didn't mean to hijack your thread. )
  2. If the boys get back to Philly in time from Virginia Beach (they had a gig there last night), we plan to hit the Brotzmann show first, and then head on to Tritone. So, if Chalupa comes (I can't remember if he said he could), there'll be at least 5 of us there (if you include organissimo as temporarily among your Philly friends ).
  3. They were smokin'! Believe you me, Pat saw a great show.
  4. I second everything Chalupa said. Well, except the part about them being the nicest guys you'll ever meet. Although my dog seems to like them.
  5. Up for tonight. So anyone else coming besides Templejazz, Chalupa, and me?
  6. Nope, Philly's as far north as they'll get this time. But they're playing 3 different clubs here between tomorrow and next Thursday, in case you want to make the trip down!
  7. The boys are on the road now, headin' for Philly. So WHO ELSE IS COMING TO CHRIS' TOMORROW?
  8. Shit. Now I gotta do laundry.
  9. Or be square!!! (Don't forget that part Jim. Nobody on this Board--and especially not Chalupa--wants to be a square. )
  10. Are you implying that we have low expectations?
  11. Don't make us come lookin' for ya.
  12. I don't see why not! I dunno, man. Starts at 11PM??? Not sure what these 3 kids' parents'll think of me having 'em out that much past their bedtime--and on a school night, too.
  13. So what does that say about the Democratic Party? It's more than 50 years older.
  14. As long as he ain't sniffin' the Crazy Glue. (Ron frantically searching the entire house to remove all adhesives before Randy's arrival.)
  15. You must feel so much better now--so much more . . . . . complete. -_-
  16. As long as he ain't sniffin' the Crazy Glue.
  17. I say we all chip in and buy Brad a new pair of reading glasses.
  18. Do their wives look like Diana Krall?
  19. <--- speaking into collar-microphone... "Can we get a bouncer over here, there's a guy named Ron S who clearly isn't on the guest list..." (Hey, I snuck in with you.)
  20. They put their pants on one leg at a time, just like the rest of us. You forgot Chuck Nessa, not to add to your anxiety or anything. Actually, I didn't forget Chuck--his name just didn't happen to be visible on the screen when I had my little epiphany.
  21. I know this one's been enthusiastically recommended before on this Board, but DAMN! DOUBLE DAMN! Now I'm gonna have to scarf up a copy of "Conflict".
  22. All I know is that I'm reading posts by Allen Lowe and Larry Kart, and I look at the bottom of the page and see next to my own name that Scott Yanow and Chris Albertson are also reading this thread, and I think to myself, "how the hell did I get into this club???"
  23. Really! And I'm sure most of those Penn students have absolutely no idea what incredible music is being played regularly on and right next to their campus. ( I can say that having been one decades ago. )
  24. I'm planning to catch you at the Tritone on October 9th. And who knows? I may have 3 itinerant Michigan musicians with me.
