  1. Dude, I just noticed--that's the OJC. The K2 (PRCD-7188-2) IS still available. Aww, you're kidding? Rats.... I coulda sworn that I ordered the K2. Guess Chuck was right about someone getting 'mixed up'. Hey, if you've exhausted the other jazz titles, you could always fill out another order with some Debbie Boone and Michael Bolton (see? there IS an advantage to the Concord takeover).
  2. Dude, I just noticed--that's the OJC. The K2 (PRCD-7188-2) IS still available.
  3. Lush Life K2 still shows as available. So who's up for putting together yet another order so Weizen can get his Lush Life?
  4. Great, so all those Debbie Boone titles I ordered for you will really be shipped.
  5. I placed my order OVER THREE HOURS ago, and it STILL hasn't arrived at my door. What's up with that? (Conn, I'm startin' to worry. )
  6. I don't do ANYTHING fast.
  7. I'm very late to this party, and just dove in head-first with a large order, including CDs for another board member. Hopefully, you guys left us a few scraps.
  8. You just can't let go of that Watergate thing, can you?
  9. Another vote for "Complete Live In Paris 1965" as the best live Wes, along with "Full House".
  10. Then how 'bout sending those CDs to me? I'll even send you some more booklets in exchange.
  11. Just face it: I'll always be one step ahead.
  12. I also keep mine in your attic, which is even more inconvenient for me than it is for you.
  13. Thanks, Jim! You've restored my status as a Funkateer:
  14. I lost about 2,000 in my post count. I'm pretty sure I haven't deleted that many in the past year and a half.
  15. Not if I can help it. I'm still persistently working on a Philly debut in October, so stay tuned.
  16. That's a good question, since the box says it in two different places. Guess I should call him back next week and find out.
  17. Chuck is--and forever will be--my hero.
  18. I'm with you (believe it or not ), and the second disc is the real standout for me.
  19. And how much to not look at you? (ba-dump-bump)
  20. I'm not sure how much better those can get! Every time I listen to those, I'm amazed at how fabulous they sound.
  21. That's OK, Lon--I've already asked Kirk the question you wanted answered. He said that yes, absolutely, your stereo system is better than any other he's ever heard.
  22. You should give this one a chance. IMHO, Joe did a great job improving on the 20-bit K2 remastering of the Bill Evans Vanguard recordings, as I discussed here.
  23. Just resuscitating this thread to share some information I just obtained about this set, in answer to a question that came up when the set first came out last year. I just spoke with Joe Tarantino, who is credited with the 2005 set's remastering, and he confirmed that this is, in fact, a new remastering, and not the 20-bit K2 remastering of the earlier Japanese box. I had suspected this after A-B'ing the new set with the 20-bit K2 versions of "Sunday At The Village Vanguard" and "Waltz For Debby". While there is much less tape hiss in the new set, the instruments have a more natural sound and greater presence than on the 20-bit K2s. Joe indicated that he thinks the remastering on the new set turned out very well, and I quite agree.
  24. Someone is about to answer this question authoritatively, so listen up. I just got off the phone with Joe Tarantino, who remastered this new set for Fantasy/Concord (and he is credited for this on the label). He confirmed that this is, indeed, a new remastering, and NOT the Japanese 20-bit K2, and that this one was done in 24-bit. By the way, I also asked him about the new Bill Evans Vanguard box, which also credits him with remastering, and he confirmed that it, too, is a new remastering, and NOT the 20-bit-K2 remastered box previously issued in Japan. I've called Joe in the past with questions, and he has always been very helpful. I'm glad to see that even with the Concord acquisition, he's still there.
