I like it... I'm a huge McCoy fan... Got nearly every record... and going to see him here in Boston in March.... :excited: Depends how much you like McCoy... I think most of us who purchased it are pretty happy... (right).... :unsure: How is that one? I've been thinking about picking it up at some point. .....now listening to the Tina Brooks set.

I'd grab them all... I didn't get the Moncur as I had several of the CD's that came out under Jackie Mclean's name... The Braxton's just not my cup of tea.. Which Hill are talking about? The Solo or Select #16.. I had the Solo but it didn't really work for me... Did you get the Akiyoshi??? That'd be my vote.. (and what about the Oscar Peterson?) :rolleyes:

I will STILL go on record that her recordings would do well on a Mosaic set... I'd LOVE the complete Verve recordings.. but would settle for a Select of the Roulette + Bet+Car recordings.... What does "no-noised to death" mean? Seriously..... :unsure: I agree with Volkher in his old post above, those Quadromania boxes suck big time sonically, they have indeed been no-noised to death. Awful.

Okay I went back and looked at this thread.... :wacko: so I get it... They don't pay royalties (due to differences in European licensing).... and there are no liner notes/discographical info. But on the positive side... They sound good, are ridiculously cheap and are a very good introduction to an artist you don't know anything about? I also saw something that despite their 4 CD nature... they are physically not much bigger than a single CD. Is that a good synopsis??? If so... I might have to grab a few of these..... :D

How is this??? What period does this cover? Does it duplicate what was on the Verve box? And is still available? I managed to listen a few tracks on rhapsody and it sounds great... What's the beef with the Quadromania label?

Disc 1 of The Greatest Jazz Concert in the World.. I can't believe both Concord and amazon are selling this set at a ridiculous price!!! $22 on concord's site and $13 on amazon's site... This is making want that Verve JATP set more.... :w :o
