    Played by?
  2. I sold several sets over the years (replaced many of them with individual albums), and now I've got 18 left (not counting Selects).

Ray Draper's tuba playing is exactly the reason why I sold this album.
  4. Oh...
  5. Do these two albums have many vocals?
  6. I never liked the Hogwood versions; to my ears they sounded too abrasive at times, and I found the playing often not very polished. I prefer the "period performances" by the Hanover Band and Tafelmusik and for the late symphonies, the "big-band" versions by the Concertgebouw Orchestra under Sir Colin Davis.
  7. David French told me his name is Ted Kendall, a John R.T. Davies pupil. He did the Clarence Williams QRS volumes for Frog.
  8. Scott told me today that the Classic Capitol Jazz Sessions will not go out of print for at least another year.
  9. Frog's David French just told me it was the late John R.T. Davies. French still has five J.R.T. masters to issue.
  10. He hasn't posted on AAJ for quite some time either. Maybe he's on a long, long vacation...
  11. I was wondering about this recording too. It can be pre-ordered from CDUniverse at a much lower price (at least today).

If you're referring to Other Dimensions in Music: Time Is of the Essence Is beyond Time, it's on AUM Fidelity 013.

Got this one a few months ago and for some reason haven't played it yet; I don't know, something (wish I knew what) is keeping me from listening to it...
  14. I wouldn't, I prefer Getz in quartet settings.
  15. These Italian sites list it: ControTempo (€11.91 or about $14.70 plus shipping), Jazzos.com (€13.30 or about $16.40 plus shipping).
  16. Errr... Amir Bagachelles mentioned DMG first.
  17. I misunderstood both your posts...
  18. Downtown Music Gallery is selling it for $15 plus shipping.
  19. Exactly my thoughts, Brad. I can't believe Mobley set is still available. Why would Scott lie about it? I mean to say I'm very surprised. Of course he is not lying. OK, I misunderstood your post.
  20. Exactly my thoughts, Brad. I can't believe Mobley set is still available. Why would Scott lie about it?
  21. Meaning?
  22. What about expressing atheistic "beliefs"?
  23. I think there's an enormous difference between expressing religious beliefs and misspellings... When I posted somewhere on this board (don't remember the topic, but it had some religious content) a while ago that in my opinion religious matters / opinions should be avoided on this board, I was kindly adviced by a friend to delete it as it might offend members with religious beliefs. Double standards if you ask me (not meaning my friend).
  24. Mosaic's Scott just told me the Mobley, Parlan, Byrd / Adams and Donaldson sets will not go on the "Last Chance" list this year.
  25. I didn't say or mean that Shrdlu was disrespectful or anything, I just don't think the board should be used for religious utterances. Just my opinion.
