David owned the Japanese reissue long before I did, so...

A few Beefheart recommendations, in more or less chronological order: Safe As Milk - Buddha Trout Mask Replica - Reprise Lick My Decals Off, Baby - Reprise (practically impossible to get at the moment; my Japanese reissue sounds fine ) The Mirror Man Sessions - Buddha The Spotlight Kid - Reprise Shiny Beast (Bat Chain Puller) - Virgin Doc at the Radar Station - Virgin Ice Cream for Crow - Virgin
  3. Don't understand it either. Same goes for the Tristano / Konitz / Marsh set...
  4. Tried back in the 1600s. It didn't work, we ended up with a load of Germans (Sad though it is...)
  5. Jim!
  6. The sound of many Fresh Sound reissues pales in comparison to the originals.
  7. Missed it too - happy birthday and many returns!
  8. See couw's explanation.
  9. ...though it's suddenly very slow...

    Time

Both the Sonny Clark and Tommy Turrentine hybrid Audio Fidelity SACDs of their Time albums are still available from CDConnection at very attractive prices. Grab 'em while you can!

    Time

I've never seen an SACD of Stanley Turrentine's Time album. I do, however, have the SACD of Tommy Turrentine's Time album. Aren't you mistaking one for the other?
  13. Same here. I hope it's nothing serious...
  14. I heard it on my computer the first time, so that's probably why it didn't sound very good. I hope to get my copy later this month.
  15. Yep, it definitely belongs there.
  16. It was and still is on my list above...

It is fantastic! Better than I had remembered. I will try to post a more thorough review later but, for now, I will highly recommend it. Does it have a lot of that typical Kowald humming (some would call it vocalizing)? why? are you a fan of "humming" ? Sure, as long as I'm the one who's doing it...

  20. Hm, I even posted in that thread. Makes you wonder... Must be getting old. My apologies to ghost.
  21. Couldn't find it, weird... Probably due to the fact that I didn't get much sleep last night. :eye: Oh well...
  22. I thought there was a thread about this album, but it didn't turn up in a search, so here goes: the street date of the CD reissue is September 21, and it can be pre-ordered from CDUniverse for $16.79. CDU also has sound samples. The sound is pretty bad, but there's lots of beautiful playing by Warne (as usual).
  23. NO LEGS AT ALL!!!! A lot of air, though...
