What happened to Loronix? Just found this: http://globalgroovers.blogspot.com/2011/11/tribute-to-loronix-and-zecalouro.html As many of you know, Loronix is off the air for more then 2 years now. Untill today nobody knew why and what happened to Zecalouro. I had also failed to get in contact and did not know what was going on. Last week I had the idea of making this tribute and gave it another try to reach him. Due to health matters Zecalouro was forced to stop his once so popular music-blog. I had a brief contact with him. Fortunately he is doing much better now, working as a musician as he once did before. His life, his blog, his decision... http://orfaosdoloronix.wordpress.com/

My first experience with Sirius was in a rental. I was really disappointed by the sound quality. I immediately heard that degradation in cymbals that I remember hearing in the early days of mp3 codec. It is less obvious to me now, which means I have grown accustomed.

Weight Loss through Water consumption
.:.impossible replied to Dan Gould's topic in Miscellaneous - Non-Political
Haha! Keep us posted. I think hydration in general is a good thing. Do you drink soda? -
I am not Scott Clark. My name is Cary Ralston. My brother is a bassist in Richmond and I do a lot of the artwork for albums, gig posters, etc. The band is Bob Miller (trumpet), Jason Scott (tenor), Cameron Ralston (bass), Scott Clark (drums, compositions). Do check them out. I saw them play with Endangered Blood a few weeks ago and they were debuting some new material from a suite inspired by "some of the events described in the book "Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee" by Dee Brown". Apparently, they played the entire suite the following week on a bill with Bererberg (Josh Berman, Christoph Erb, Fred Lonberg-Holm). Can you see the video footage from wtvr? Maybe someone can help me embed the video here?

Weight Loss through Water consumption
.:.impossible replied to Dan Gould's topic in Miscellaneous - Non-Political
I can't vouch for it, but it is a habit of mine. I drink as much water a day as I can. I've become an avid runner over the past few years with a few hiatuses, so hydration is necessary or running is hell. I went from 188 to 173 in a matter of weeks after my last hiatus. Everyone's body type is different, but this is significant in my opinion. The only thing I changed was my sedentary habits, which resulted in an increase in water intake out of necessity. I run at least 3 miles a day 5-6 days a week. Don't stop your push-up regimen. If anything, it is burning calories and changing your body's metabolism. I'm no expert, so take all of this with a glass of water. -
Howdy folks. I wanted to share these calendar items with the New England contingency. Well, except for Allen Lowe, who knows that whenever someone mentions New England, they really mean NY, CT, RI, MA (VT, NH when the leaves are changing... OK maybe Sunday River in the thick of winter). From http://scottwclark.wordpress.com/ Next, on Wednesday May 9th we’re going to New Haven Connecticut to play at The Uncertainty Music Series presented by the great bassist/composer Carl Testa. The show will take place at The Elm Bar (372 Elm St. New Haven, CT). Show starts at 9pm ($5 suggested donation) and we’ll be playing 2 sets of music, one of which will be the second performance of our suite of music based off of the book “Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee” by Dee Brown and on my own research into my family history. (more info Then on Thursday May 10th we’ll be playing at IBeam in Brooklyn, NY. This show will be with Blood Syndicate Trio featuring Darius Jones- alto,Jason Nazary- drums and Sean Conly- bass. Cameron, Darius and myself used to have a trio together when Darius was still living in Richmond called CUD, and we’re excited to be sharing the stage together again. The show starts at 8:30 and there is a $10 suggested donation. (IBeam 168 7th Street Brooklyn, NY 11215) And here are two clips of the group playing an EARLY morning gig on the local CBS affiliate's morning program in a very blue room. http://wtvr.com/2012/05/08/virginia-this-morning-scott-clark-4-tet/

The Don't F*** With A Cat Corner
.:.impossible replied to JSngry's topic in Miscellaneous - Non-Political
My parenting instinct with regard to cats is don't keep them. I've been around enough kids and I've been around enough cats to know that there is way to much unpredictability in that equation for my well-being. I just watched the video. Poor kid. Poor cat. No idea who's behind the camera, but they were fanning a flame and got exactly what they wanted. -
