The new issue came out recently (it seems to come out a few times a year) and of the dozen reviews I wrote, several were printed! Good for me right? Life is wonderful. The one review that has my name on it is the one I wrote. I wrote a glowing review of Al Basile's "Red Breath" and that is what they printed. My review was brilliant, so stylistically they left it unaltered. A few phrases from my review were lifted and used as an example to others how to write great prose! As well as sampling Intakt releases, you might also want to try Willi the Pig, with Tchicai, a rare LP of a 1975 concert dubbed to CD by Atavaistic as part of their Unheard Music Series.

The 1995 "Ready for Freddie" is mastered by Larry Walsh. 1995... seems like only yesterday... I am wondering what this summer's release of In'n'Out will sound like. It is one of the worst BN CDs, and I am curious how good the master tape is.

Even though I am not a fan of RVGs, it is the case that early BN CDs are usually of limited quality. I think your best guide is your ears (and of course your system is a factor). If you LIKE RVGs and if you think by comparison with RVGs you have that the existing versions sound bad, then of course, upgrade. If you are basically satisfied stay with what you have. it may be that you arn't satisfied but don't really want to have to upgrade. Well this is a choice too! If it isn't important enough to you, it is not a priority, full stop. These RVGs will be available for several years, I believe, so there may be no hurry.

So how can I get my CD drive to play a CD now? Do I have to reboot?

My copy of the set from zweitausendeins came with just CDs, jewel cases and insertts - no box, no book. Some of the ebay sets may be like that. The sound quality compared to the original LPs is not so good.

OK I'm back on this again I admit it. I've got a bee in my bonnet about sourcing Russian versions of tatu songs in any format and vinyls in either language. Anyone any ideas on discography (just say no) or on UK sources for this kind of vinyl? Thank you!

Hi Kenny nice to see you. Yes it IS the Mosaic, but packaged in a narrower box, about the same size as the Herbie Box.

FSS is/was available as a JRVG, but is not known to be scheduled as an RVG.

Scheduled for Summer 2004. No need to panic... yet...

Hi Philly and welcome! I found your site completely by accident. I was looking for any site that could tell me the next 100 Japanese RVG titles after TOCJ 9600. (These are the ones we call JRVGs). So I typed "TOCJ 9600" into Google and found your site. I couldn't really read it, but I could see that you were talking about all the kinds of things we talk about here. I thought it was quite funny, finding another version of us on the other side of the world. So I am very glad you have called to say hello - maybe you will decide to stick around.

These guys are in Taiwan (I think). To really get into this site you need the wonders of babelfish, though you may find it makes even less sense...
