  1. Well I also didn't know Mike Myers wrote for them. Can't he bankroll them? Or is it another Mike Myers?
  2. I had no idea there was a weekly gazette. That's the kind of spam I can very much do without...
  3. I'm wondering how they reach customers? I don't even get the emails, though I still have a customer account. In any case I don't want spam from them or anybody else. Physical product, physical catalogue? Have to reach customers somehow. Is it enough to just sit there with a website? I can see that worked with some loyal customers but can that really be enough?
  4. I haven't had anything from them for years.
  5. Mosaic stopped distributing their catalogue years ago. I wonder if that made a difference or was already a sign of the times.
  6. The individual albums, in the wake of the Mosaic and using the previously unissued tracks for X-75.
  7. The Threadgill is all on Spotify, for those wishing to sample.
  8. Changes on the last chance page. Skewered my short list...
  9. Glad you managed to decipher it!
  10. This muddled page might help: https://themenschmidt.de/oscarpettiford/oscar-pettiford-1957-1960/
  11. It's a contracting market, is all. Last year my total CD spend was $8.99 plus tax. This year it is £9.99 incl. VAT. My download spend over the same period was zero. Spotify costs me £5/month. Live music, on the other hand... Oh and a 7" single for $5.99 + tax. Worse thing about this board, you can't post photos - otherwise I'd show you what I bought.
  12. FWIW, time was on this board when the OP could NOT delete their own thread. It is almost certainly still switchable.
  13. Hungary was integrated with Austria, which makes it a central part of musical tradition. Szell, Solti, Fricsay, Kertesz...
  14. Maybe reprint Dogon? Still demand for that, I should think...
  15. I happened to buy that issue. Next up: Hank Mobley? I'm still trying to figure out why I ever buy this magazine if it is all available online...
  16. And some memorable music by Barry Gray...
  17. Already a thread on this in this section.
  18. Still out there as an inexpensive download and on streaming services.
  19. Remember that they continued to fit cassette players alongside CD for many years. The CD player is gone from new designs now.
  20. I've only got the CDs in plastic boxes as sold by zweitausendeins some years ago. No box, no booklet. Pure art.
  21. it's all coming out now...
