  1. Looking for a copy of this stubbornly hard to find hatOLOGY disc. If anyone has a copy they'd like to part with I'd pay up to $25
  2. These usually also show up at Dusty Groove after awhile.

    Steve Lacy

http://www.jazzloft.com/p-55191-estilhacos.aspx Clean Feed has just reissued this, a 1972 recording that was allegedly the first jazz album released in Portugal. I can only assume that this is an incredibly rare Lacy side.
  4. Drat! The Birthday Book I have states his birth as the 15th, same as my son! I so enjoyed that connection....
  5. Ran Blake - Crystal Trip (Horo)
  6. I lost the CD of Andrew Hill's Black Fire a couple years back-- still have the case & inserts. I know it's a long shot but anyone have a spare? I'd be happy to pay the cost of shipping. It was the RVG but I wouldn't care if the disc was a McMaster. I'm thinking this is doubtful, but I figger it couldn't hurt before I just head to Amazon and cough up five bucks for a new copy.
  7. I've seen plenty Andorran releases with thumbnails of the original art; I think the problem is using the covers in whole. Hence why these discs aren't LP repros (which would have been quite nice, except in the case of that Arr Pepper session)
  8. Cool, I love when that happens. I've never got anything so personal but I did once find a red Beatles fanzine flexidisc in a Paul McCartney record. Also some clippings in used Cecil Taylor Barnabys and a nice Whitney Balliet profile on Claude Thornhill in that Columbia anthology.
  9. Available many different ways for cheap. No reason not to get it IMO.
  10. Wow, never heard of many of those. I'd buy them all!
  11. Jump Up and Non-Sequitors (Dave Liebman, Ellery Eskelin Jim Black) are now available. As if it bears mentioning (and as Sangrey pointed out upthread) Jump Up is one of the finest jazz records I've ever heard and is absolutely not to be missed.
  12. No prob. I got McPhee's Sweet Freedom, Now What? for $10, a price I foolishly passed on some time ago. It's in print on hatOLOGY but I got the cool Max Roach cover.
  13. Sure but try getting a copy. Any of the 60s New York scene Fontanas would be amazing.
  14. Assuming any actually made it out.
  15. Steve Lacy & Mal Waldron - Journey Without End? I considered this too, but I think if I had to pick just one Blake record for this project it would be Painted Rhythms.
  16. FWIW prices are the same at Amazon.
  17. This is now out as a 5xLP set: http://www.jazzloft.com/p-55181-live-in-europe-1967-the-bootleg-series-vol-1-180-5-lp-box.aspx
  18. Tristano - Descent Into the Maelstrom?
  19. Ran Blake - Painted Rhythms? Long OOP and considered some of his best work. Rightswise no clue what's up there.
  20. Great deals, everything between $7-25. Some super rare titles I see are Lacy - WE SEE, Peter Kowald - Was Da Ist, Braxton - OPEN ASPECTS, some Cecil Taylor 88s ... http://www.reckless.com Search hat, hathut, hatart, hatology, hatjazz, intakt, fmp, blacksaint, Steve Lacy, Joe McPhee, Cecil Taylor, Anthony Braxton, Peter Brotzmann, etc
  21. You could pick up the 5 Candid CDs for $36.13 + shipping on Amazon.
  22. These are the only two I'm familiar w/ and they're excellent. The latter is an all-time fave.
  23. Yep. btw the Impulse! session is available on Mixed and the Newport is on on OOP Verve LPR CD.
