  1. When I think of Sam Rivers I think of an open mind and soul. It's a trait all too rare and is his lasting legacy.
  2. I understand where Jim is coming from on that. There is some Kenton I can get behind but I get the same vibe. Listening to Kenton can be like drinking a big warm glass of milk. Which, to me, is creepy. This is very extra-musical and entirely subjective, I admit this.
  3. My guess is that if I packed it in an LP mailer with cardboard, it'd run maybe $10-15USD.
  4. One more try: a straight $50 for everything listed here.
  5. Bump down to $85
  6. Bump down to $55 for everything.
  7. Already a classic in my household. I love it.
  8. Hm, this was mentioned by Cuscuna in an interview some years ago. I think he intended to release it through Blue Note at the time, so I'm glad he found an avenue for release. He mentioned it in tandem with some live Andrew Hill so fingers crossed on that one!
  9. Up. I'll offer everything listed in the first post for $65 shipped, or as stated above.
  10. Mulligan & Zeitlin are sold.
  11. All sold. Mods feel free to delete.
  12. Hajdu is exhausting and is at his best when he's writing about someone/something he actually likes, which is exceedingly rare (and usually is directed at middling contemporary pop stars and hip-hop, such is the vogue for a certain brand of aging white male critic). More often than not, though, he's contented to shoot fish in a barrel. As this piece shows, he's also prone to fits of bizarre invective.
  13. ubu said it: the range of his activities is breathtaking. One of the greats.
  14. Up with a price drop for this OOP set.
  15. Updated with a couple price drops.
  16. $95 shipped in US. Very good condition save a split on the top left corner of the box lid. Booklet & CDs near mint.
  17. Bump with new listings
  18. Exactly. I believe that 'Mosaic' is also the name of the latest Terri Lynne record (maybe Ms. Allen and Spaulding are on it ... dunno) keith Also correct. But speaking of the Stamford Mosaic, Geri Allen's Blue Notes would make a fine Select, though oop copies are available on Amazon for very cheap.
  19. Edited to reflect what's left. I'll do both Giuffres for $10
  20. Can't be sure but I wouldn't be surprised if he did ensemble work with it in the 50s. But yeah, I don't think he soloed on it previously.
