Price sticker on this is killing me.
-
You may recognize it from this 70s 2fer LP. It was also on the Moncur Mosaic Select: Still hoping for a standalone issue of High Frequency but I think that ship has sailed.
-
Got my copy yesterday, fantastic disc.
-
Yes, I think at this point this is simply the price you pay to have a CD edition at all.

Speaking of Edwards/Noble, their new disc from Otoroku with Sophie Agnel is tremendous. https://sophieagnel.bandcamp.com/album/three-on-a-match

Agreed. Not the biggest Lloyd fan either, but it's a good listen and an interesting slice of history.- 108 replies

Dusty Groove is where I saw the $33, which surprised me. It's a good $5-6 more than the Elvin Jones 2xCD was, and a good $10 more than all the recent 2xCD Elemental/Zev Feldman things that came out a few months ago. Guess that's the "Tone Poet" bump.- 108 replies

Scroll down under the blurb where it says Description & Audio Clips. Next to that is a toggle for Discography that lists the full contents. And per your query, yes, there are a number of more obscure artists represented with this caveat at the end: -
ORNETTE COLEMAN - ROUND TRIP: ORNETTE COLEMAN ON BLUE NOTE
colinmce replied to dougcrates's topic in Re-issues
Could be, yeah, but I always felt like Ornette would benefit from a Bootleg Series-type program more than most. -
Truly a gift that he was with us for so long. RIP to one of the all-time greats.

Lots of discussion about the Blue Note version of Town Hall, and the status of the acetates. Both LPs have been posted in full on YouTube. This is record 1, side A. The other 3 sides can be found on the account page: -
What live music are you going to see tonight?
colinmce replied to mikeweil's topic in Live Shows & Festivals
Noticed this one on Instagram, that's a strong ensemble. I'm looking forward to hearing that record, though it appears to be vinyl-only unfortunately? -
a staggering loss, but an incredible life. thankful for all that he gave to this music.

FS/FT: Bob Brookmeyer Mosaic Select

Adjusted to say I'm happy to trade as well. Pretty wide open in terms of for what. -
Came into a spare copy of this excellent release. Offering it for sale at $35 shipped, or for trade. The set is in good condition, with a bit of wear to the slipcase as you'd expect. US only please.

“Remaster” is very much overstating the case. At best these are (well done, admittedly) amateur/independent tweakings of existing sources pressed to CD under the generous legalities of Swiss copyright. Your mileage may vary but I don’t at all consider them required listening unless you are really interested. I haven’t heard the Evans in particular, but I find it hard to believe there is a marked improvement over what’s been done many times over the years https://www.discogs.com/release/28183552-The-Bill-Evans-Trio-At-the-Village-Vanguard-1961-Revisited

This is a fantastic album.

I used to have the first CBCJQ Columbia LP and don't remember it being much more than a pleasant listen but this is encouraging me to revisit his body of work. Highly informational piece if nothing else. https://www.newyorker.com/culture/culture-desk/the-brief-brilliant-career-of-charles-bell-a-forgotten-trailblazer-of-modern-jazz
