  1. I yet to hear BATCS. Is it as laid-back as Home Cookin'. HC's very subtle, but it swings! I love Smith's rendition of I Got A Women.
  2. Where's he playing?
  3. I just spinned Unity last night. I believe it was WBGO, that was accepting donations for someone jazz musician that was ill? I dont fully remember.
  4. If the music is good, the music is good! That's all I have to say.
  5. The trumpet player is Howard Magee. That's a great video- JJ is playing his ass off. Was what I said the actually case? Was Sonny really pissed off at that guy Howard?
  6. Favorite Stones issue, England's Biggest Hit Makers.
  7. No Room For Squares
  8. Gene Quill.
  9. It's probaly just the wide variety that makes it un appealing to watch. Sometimes I see these R&B wierdo's and say, Why the hell is this on the jazz channel! But there is some good moments. Impressions is usually good. Not Just Jazz, had an interview with T.S. Monk, and some other jazz cats. Jazz Pads is cool, SOMETIMES, mostly they have smooth jazz people's homes. They have shows dedicated to the Duke, and air the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra. It ain't what I thought it'd be. Great jazz, 24/7, with the click of a button! No, you got to be lucky to catch a good show.
  10. That's why lady organist, in church plays without shoes.
  11. I think I saw that in my fantasy dream last night.
  12. Soulstream, you said you are either born with the left hand bass. Are you? How hard is it?
  13. Stop getting me hungry. It's two days before pasta night.
  14. Lamont is playing drums!
  15. I think Jimmy felt superior to other organists, in a little article I read with him in some jazz book I got. He stresses the use of pedals so much!!! Jimmy is the master though!
  16. Speaking of Sanford And Son, it is the episode where Fred is on the Gong Show. Some lady just did an impression of Louis Armstrong.
  17. I remember that solo from The Sound Of Jazz, with Billy Holiday, and Lester Young. Man, Roy's solo blew me away!
  18. I bought a lot of sealed lp's, of various albums Sonny Rollins, Worktime George Braith, Two Souls In One Clark Terry, In Orbit etc. I think they were reissued in like the 80's. not sure.
  19. Some of the A&M catalogue is quite good.
  20. I was just mellowing out to Smith at my grandmothers house. I was listening out for his use of the pedals. It keeps you occupied. I kind of figured you couldn't do a moving bass line at allegro tempo all with your feet. I thought it had to be syncronized.
  21. Rolling Stones reissues? They hardly sound that great. But as far as the music goes, Aftermath rules!
  22. Tina Brooks's story is so interesting. Yeah I heard that. That it was pictured on inside sleaves, but never even released!
