  1. Yeah, that's happened to me the last couple of times I've sold stuff in the last couple of weeks. I figured it was just a setting I neglected to check.
  2. The Complete Pacific Jazz Recordings (BMG issue), SOLD TO CONN500! Or, looking for the following RVGs: Demon's Dance Here to Stay Doin' the Thing at the Village Gate Paypal preferred. E-mail acrearick@hotmail.com Thanks, as always.
  3. Scrubs, Season 4, out next Tuesday (October 10)! WOO HOO!!!!!
  4. Here's hoping we meet face-to-face one day, my friend! Happy birthday!
  5. Buck Showalter has been fired. YESSSS!!!!!! Turns out that he was asked to resign, but refused. So they fired him. So much for Buck taking the chance to leave with dignity. Did he actually think he was doing that good of a job? HA!!!! So long Buck. And good riddance!
  6. Now there's a guy who's Phillipian his wig over nothing!
  7. I had a bunch of nice homemade bookmarks I was going to send to the folks in Washington until I discovered they preferred their pages bent over.
  8. I hope. But I ain't holding my breath.
  9. The difference between then and now is simply this: back then, blacks had no choice but to let themselves be degraded. Nowadays, they have that choice, and unfortunately they choose to do just that. In that respect, things are worse now than they were back then.
  10. Belated birthday wishes to a most colorful cat!!!
  11. Really? I'm curious to know which songs you're referring to, for no other reason than just a "different strokes for different folks" curiosity!
  12. "Watching and Waiting" is one of their best songs. Guy The more I listen to that song, the more I agree.
  13. Okay, finally hit on one I enjoy: To Our Children's Children's Children Some pretty songs, a couple decent rockers, and an absolute winner in "Sun is Still Shining." Plus, to my knowledge, none of these songs have been destroyed by classic-rock radio. This album best captures the spirit of the Moodies better than their other classic albums, IMHO.
  14. Can you imagine the riot in Detroit right now had another team made the wild card? What a colossal choke to end the season: getting swept by the lowly Royals! And then, to top it off, coming in second after leading the division all season! Hard to call a playoff team a disappointment, but man, what a way to end the season!
  15. What Alex said. Sheesh, first Elizabeth Berkley in SHOWGIRLS, now this..... what is this world coming to? Although, come to think of it, with a name like Dustin Diamond, it's amazing we didn't see this.... er, coming.
  16. ROAD TRIP!!!!!
  17. Well, it looks like they're gonna get in on the basis of Houston's loss only, as they're still being shut out in the 9th. They should be out by the first round.
  18. Finally, Al! Hopy you'll enjoy it! Well, it was your BFT that made me wanna get it!
  19. Just got back from the big Half-Price Books on Northwest Highway, and if I wanna stay within striking distance of financial solvency, I will never go in there again! It's just too damn dangerous, 'specially since I got that blasted rekkid player! Tonight's haul: Kenny Burrell: All Day Long and All Night Long (Prestige 2-fer) Hubert Laws: Morning Star Charles Lloyd: Of Course, Of Course (MONO baby!!!) Fats Waller: Complete Volume 1, 1934-35 A Bill Cosby record And this was AFTER I had put back the following: Some Milestone Ben Webster two-fer of recordings he did overseas in '69 The infamous "Marquis de Sade" LP by Lalo Schifrin which I was gonna try & eBay Jackie McLean's HIPNOSIS Horace Parlan/Booker Ervin BACK FROM THE GIG And that's not even to mention the Jackie McLean Steeplechases and various Blue Note LPs (re-releases from the late 60's/early 70's, based on the look of the labels, those Liberty-style labels. But still......) Naturally, a HPB Gift Certificate has shot to the top of my Christmas Wish List!
  20. Which they don't, at least not the most recent ones. Hope the sale doesn't end before they get them back in stock!
  21. You know it! I just figured this would be a good jumping-off point to celebrate any favorite recordings from that era.
