As far as the "Tracks" album is concerned, I found trumpeter Peitrangelo's e-mail but it is no longer valid. I will try the guitarist's adress next .... Two other rare Rhyne participations are on their way to me: An all-star affair by Uncle Funkenstein and a CD by Japanese guitarist Yoshitaka Kanno: With these, my Melvin Rhyne discography may be complete.

Not the musician, but ...

When I prepared my Tjader discography for Duncan S. Reid's book, I never trusted Lord. The Tjader data he displays are still the same as in the old Bruyninckx disco. He seems to have his people for some musicians, but others are shamefully neglected. I always check with other sources. But, to be fair, it is impossible to get everything in such a project. Even in a discography on a single musician, you never can be complete. You'd have to audition every record to confirm every detail, which is extremely hard to achieve. If he had a way of letting specialised discographers work on his database, similar to Wikipedia, that would open up a lot of possibilities.

The Mexican coach was clever, saw the weak spot in the German defense early on and instructed his team - they tried the same trick a dozen times and scored. I wonder why neither Löw nor his players did notice. They woke up much too late.

Next is my own CDR compilarion of Wes Montgomery's October 10, 1963 session for Riverside with Melvin Rhyne - his last two sessions for the label are a mess, discographically, and never were reissued properly and in complete form in one package.

One of my desert island discs. This has the fat bass sound I love and never hear on Rudy Van Gelder recordings.

They added a bonus track, but forgot the solo piano piece Rowles recorded at this session ...

The cover design of the new release definitely looks like CMP.
