The only guy who seemed to constantly be in there provoking/looking for the fight is the same idiot who caught the 4 game suspension back in March -- Lapierre. I was somewhat disappointed that he didn't get clock'd a time or two.

Would it though? The vinyl, for sure...but the cd set? We all know that there are numerous oop sets that command high prices......but is this the case with every single oop set? Don't know. Mosaic has sold at least 5,000 CD sets. I know because my set is numbered in that range and I bought it 4 years ago. The fact that Mosaic has had such trouble getting to the 7,500 mark indicates to me the market for this set is tapped out. Since it's been for sale for so long, So long is right! This is one of those occassions where you'd like to see Hank go oop in style. Might be time for Mosaic to float the little white lie that the set is getting seriously low so that it can be reported here and over at Hoffman....then, during the ensuing scramble, we can all play our bit part & dig deep one more time to make this thing disappear from the shelves in a couple of days. Most of us already have 3 copies of every Hank title, but I'm sure the majority will step up to the plate to see this thing through. Scott, you reading this?? Time to set in motion a chain reaction.

heh hem .... Ah, I think it's becoming clear what the 'O' in Ovechkin stands for. He was a non-factor in the clutch. And a guy who seems a bit lost when the offense is struggling. A front-runner, in other words. Historic chock by the Caps. Yes, an abomination for sure....but rather than zero in on Ovechkin and make it all about him, I think it was clear early on that the team was going to founder on the rocks if Semin didn't start racking up some points. He never caught fire.....barely a spark even. End of story.** ** well, not really. We still have to listen to the "Caps had the best record in the league during the regular season" line for awhile to come. I don't know how many times I've heard the announcers mouth that line during this series. Tiring. Give it a rest already!

Seven years later, I'm assuming that the multiple copies that one finds listed online are re-issues?

Newbury bargain thread (and bargains in general)
Son-of-a-Weizen replied to ghost of miles's topic in Miscellaneous Music
Someone made me a vinyl burn of this 4 or 5 years ago and it hasn't received much play. Just happened to grab it on Sunday to play in the car and have been listening non-stop to it since. Before, it was always just sorta okay......but now, after 2 dozen consecutive spins, it's morphed into total ....... so just placed an order for this Newbury copy to hear that other session. -
gerry mulligan meets ? ....meets Tony. I'd like to hear this '54 VOA broadcast from Newport (page 104). The recording quality is bound to be pretty good. http://gerrymulligan.com/mulligan/2009discography.pdf

So, was Bernie's Tune absent from the original LP and only added later to the cd release? Why's that? My CD says it was first issued on the Mosaic Mulligan/Baker box. Why, I have no idea. I first heard the material (some of it, anyway) on PLLP-2, a 10" job with the quartet on one side & Konitz added on the flip. The I got this one, the same material as on the one originally pictured, but repackaged for the late-60s market: The 2-LP set I never got, just becuase there was some studio/larger group/more-arranged stuff I didn't really care for all that much. But the real meat for me is the straight-up quintet stuff where Konitz has pretty much the whole show. Some of his strongest/most striking playing ever, imo. He's in that zone. Ahhh, I see. Okay, thanks. Seems like a fair number of Revelation copies floating about over at eBay. Another Mulligan question please. I have a beat vinyl copy of and would like to pick up the cd version. The material is on the 2-cd Lonehill set (which I don't want because I already have 'Mainstream of Jazz') ....and it appears as though the only other way to get it is to pick up the Membran disc. This true? .

Snapped several quick photos 25 minutes ago while driving in DC. Nary a tourist in sight at the Lincoln Memorial and the Memorial Bridge entrance. -

Try switching to Crest Whiskey then. Hey, if it's good enough for Sean Connery, it's good enough for you!!! -

Weizie, let us know if you have better luck with the packs you receive! And was the subscription to Alfred Hitchcock or Ellery Queen? Also ordered 3 packs. Same as you with the 1 Ellery/2 Hitch per pack....but we only had 3 dupes total -- Jan '07 (Ellery) + March & April '07 (Hitchcock). The remaining Ellery was the Feb. '07 issue. Subscribed for 6 mos to both the Hitch and Ellery. -

I asked State Farm about this two weeks ago. They said that the best way to avoid getting the $7.98 Amazon list price for your OOP Return to Forever 'Romantic Warrior' JPN SACD, is to snap digital photos out the wazoo and a have a pic of each item w/catalogue number stashed away in a safe location (office, safe deposit box, etc). -

To think that I have wasted hours studying the How to Hail a Cab manual. C'est la vie. Now it's time to move on to your next project -- cataloging that jumble of old 60's/70's/80s remotes in a box you once mentioned. -
"Palladium Date is only half a Hayes album. The original LP had three tracks by Hayes on one side. The reverse was 6 songs by Cleo Laine... Hayes is not present on the Cleo sides.. so unless you are a Cleo follower too, this is an expensive proposition for a Hayes collector." Was just checking out his commentary re: the Tubbs/Cleo date.....but the real reason I resurrected this thread is to ask about P.D. Where'd he go?

Conn, Here's the thing -- the seller will figure out mighty quick if it's "too hefty" 'cause he won't make a sale....so there's really no need for people to chime in and put the seller on the defensive when he's already devastated by the fact that he has to part with a treasured set in order to buy ballet slippers for his kid's next recital. -
An embarrassing loss for Montreal. Some of those boys need to go back to school and git some learnin' re: self control. Some of the Montreal fans might also want to make appointments with the local Optometrist. What? They didn't see Gionta cross-checking the Caps player in the back multiple times like a fiend?

NHL Playoffs 2010 Caps vs Montreal. I couldn't believe it when the Caps came back to win this one tonite. I thought they were toast when they were down 4-1. Amazing. Boudreau's yanking of Jose Theodore from the net 12 minutes into the 1st period after he'd let in the two Canadiens goals was a bit surprising. Caps defense is still quirky imo.....hard to believe they won't get hosed in Montreal....but hey???
