  1. Has anyone else not even received a single reply for J & R on their order? I made my order 3 days ago and it still shows "Processing"-not even a confirmation of a single cd in stock-let alone anything shipping. I requested in the order that they ship whatever was in stock. Anyone else wait longer than I have to get any confirmation from them? I guess I've been spoiled by da' Bastards at the Groove, where everything ships out the next day...
  2. Check out the top bidder's Feedback- all Mosaic purchases. He's from Italy-maybe a jazz lover with a vineyard in Tuscany. If I didn't love my Mosaic collection so much, I'd send him an e-mail-then prepare to retire early.... I'd have enough to pay for my next heart surgery.. If the Rogers set fetches $100+ per cd..... just think what he'll be paying for a first issue Blue Note lp..
  3. Chuck: I am getting into this discussion a little late. What is the recording date, location, and sidemen on this session? Don Manning, who lives here in Portland and played drums in some club dates with Bird in LA, has been playing up this release for a few years. Thanks, Jeff
  4. Anybody getting the new Van Morrison cd coming out tomorrow-"Magic Time"? His tenure with Blue Note was short-this one is on Geffen. The sound samples on AMG show it to be a diverse mix of styles. It got a rave review there. Van is probably the only non-jazz musician that I follow closely. May be worth checking out? B-)
  5. Mark: Sent you a PM on this set! Jeff
  6. Yes, i have this one as well! I found it in the bargain bins at Amoeba! A good find.
  7. Mark; I can burn and bring you a copy if you have no luck finding an original copy. Jeff
  8. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Matt's work-as I have his Cannonball print and it is STUNNING I have received many compliments from people who marvel at its accuracy. For a music room or as a gift, you can't go wrong... The website does not do justice to the quality of his work. And for not much more than the price of a cd...
  9. More great photos, Mark! A stage of jazz royalty.....
  10. Hey, Matt: I have some "credit" here.. I'd love the Cannonball drawing! No shipping charges needed! -Jeff (Portland)
  11. I live in Portland and Mel Brown is the REAL deal. He is easily one of the best drummers on the West Coast in a tasty laid back way. He is the first choice drummer for out of state talent coming to town-and has been the primary drummer for later years Motown talent. An earlier rendition of one of his bands won the Playboy Jazz Festival Talent Search competition in LA 'round 10 years ago.. His weekly gigs at Jimmy Maks in Portland-Hammond B-3 group, a "Jazz Messengers" type sextet and/or Quintet featuring Warren Rand, Stan Bock, the great Thara Memory on trumpet are beyond high energy-they play non-stop 2 one hour plus gigs, blending one tune into the next. GET THAT CD-Louis Payne is a dynamite B-3 man. Mel Brown deserves nationwide props-he's that good-he's just chosen to stay in the Northwest. (Winard Harper gave him big time praise the last time he was in town.)
  12. GUY: MERCI BEAUCOUP..... -Jeff
  13. Thanks, Brownie! It was much fun meeting you 2 Summers ago-although just briefly. You must almost be retired about now-you lucky fellow I thought of you lately when I saw a documentary about the French court system-I believe it was called "District Court 10." It was made by a documentarian who helped run an UPI/AP like photo agency in Paris-evidently he is quite famous! Hope you are doing well! Jeff Krow
  14. HEY, ALLAN, TJOBBE, MARK, & BIG AL..... Your cds went out today.... Lookin forward to spendin' some of my "credit." You guys can now list all your hidden treasures-but send me a PM first so I can be first on the draw.. -Jeff
  15. TJOBBE: Just sent you a PM requesting your address for shipping. I will send out your cd by Air Mail to Germany. ENJOY!! Jeff
  16. Guess what, the 2 other copies we found in Portland's premiere record shop of the RVG cd/DVD also only came with the cd- NO RUDY INTERVIEW. Needless to say they reimbursed my $13.99. Guess I'll have to wait a bit longer to watch Rudy on my TV..... Until I get an all clear-I will not try the internet shops. Pretty weird- no one else out there with similar issue.... -Jeff
  17. MARK: I'D LOVE THE PATTON CD BIG TIME.... JEFF
  18. Sjarell & Tjobbe: You guys are 6 mins apart-if it goes strictly by time then Tjobbe it's yours. If shipping expenses are an issue-I'm new to this thread just today!-then let me know as all cds are taken and one is already going to Canada. If shipping is not an issue (shipper pays all costs no matter how much?) then I will follow protocol. (Are foreign shipped cds sent airmail?) Am I wrong that just a few folks are getting most of the goodies or do they just have big time credit coming their way? I have not read this posting from Day one-mostly latched on today. I don't have the health to stir up any hornet's nests-I'll go with the flow-which I assume that it comes down to the minute on response to new offerings, right? Just let me know--- I hope to get all the cds shipped in next few days when I can get taken to the Post Office..... -Jeff
  19. PM 'bout this weekend in Portland-just went out your way, Peter! -Jeff
  20. WOW, IS ALL I CAN SAY, PETER!! I'd dig Sonny Clark's "Dial S for Sonny" I already have the BN Conn. But it would be fun to hear Rudy work his magic! I'll send you a PM with my phone/address. If you can put up with my slow post HA pace, I could take you to some local cool cd shops-actually you'd have to drive-as the Doc won't let me drive for 1 month Anyway, this is way cool..... I'm feelin' better already -Jeff
  21. ALLAN, BIG AL, MARK: Youze guys all got cds comin' your ways.... The Roach, Shank/Cooper, and Peterson (Criss Cross) will all be headin' out. Give me a few daze to limp to the Post office Can anyone help me find a few goodies to come my way to pass my housebound time Hope you guys all have fun enjoyin' your new tunes.... -Jeff
  22. As I am trying to get back into the groove-and am homebound for 8 weeks-recovering from a 7 level bypass surgery-lots of time on my hands now - I thought I'd throw a few goodies into the mix (including maybe a few OOP)- but I have been confused trying to folllow what is still available on "the other end." It appears you have to go back 5-10 series of postings at a time to see what has been snatched up (still available ) Oh, What the hell-this is about just giving away stuff to make a few people's days, right? It'll do my ticker good So, here are mine....have a go at 'em...: "Tests of Time"- Ralph Peterson Criss Cross #1240 (W/ Jeremy Pelt) "Max Roach + 4" Max Roach (W/Kenny Dorham/Sonny Rollins) Emarcy "Babes Blues" The 3 Sounds OOP/old BMG issue "Blowin Country" Bud Shank/Bob Cooper OOP/West Coast Classics!! (But if anyone has any spare K2 remasters... ) Jeff
  23. GREAT SHOTS-as usual, Mark! I'm so itchin' to get a chance to visit the Jazz Record Mart/Dem Bastards at the Groove.....
  24. I was excited to get my copy of this cd/DVD set today- just for the RVG interview-but lo and behold, my copy came only with the cd-NO DVD disc-how about that-and this was the store's ONLY sealed copy I couldn't be the only one out there with a defective set????? I'm sure it would take more time to let BN know then to wait till the store gets more... (And I already had all the cd material.....Grrrr Just what a guy needs just one week past a 7 bypass open heart surgery- my first day cross town to get out of the house. The RVG interview better be REAL special... Oh, forgot, gots to keep the blood pressure down. (HI TO ALL MY ORGANISSIMO BUDDIES OUT THERE-I'M STILL KICKIN'-jest a little weaker Jeff/jazzkrow
