  1. Milford Graves - Meditation Among Us [Kitty records, Japan 1977] Today's arrival, waited a long time to find a half reasonably priced copy
  2. Charles Tolliver's Music inc. - Live At Loosdrecht Jazz festival [Intercord/Black Lion, Germay 1974]
  3. Charif Megarbane - Habibi Funk 023, Marzipan [Habibi Funk Records, Germany 2023] he describes this as "Lebrary Music", lots of imagined soundtracks to Beirut films of a certain era, modernised.
  4. I have a handful of Pure Pleasures but each of them sounds too in-yer-face too hot for my liking, it as if they're too clean, if that makes any sense at all. I'm not expecting it to. I know plenty of people really rate them, your good self included, so it must be down to me. It's also now become self-fulfilling, so if I do buy another it's going to sound the same
  5. I have the Black Lion but not purchased from Mole. I often think it would be fun to compile my shadow collection of all the 100s LPs I have sold over the years. Pleased to say not too many that I regret, especially not the Metal ones!
  6. 0ffloaded my LP of this this week. Never really got on with it
  7. I bet your postman loves you...
  8. @Pim that's practically a collection in itself, are there any LPs left in Japan?! I can't help but be intrigued by the Bob Cooper
  9. If you insist...a bit of a mix Charif Megarbane : Marzipan LP John Coltrane With Eric Dolphy : Evenings At The Village Gate LPX2 Max Roach : Members, Don't Git Weary LP, Arc reissue Jack Sheen : Solo For Cello CD Peter Brotzmann, Majid Bekkas, Hamid Drake : Catching Ghosts The Southern University Jazz Ensemble : Goes To Africa With Love LPX2 Egisto Macchi : Gangsters 70
  10. And I thought I went mad with a recent 7 item order to Honest Jon's 😃
  11. First listen to my LP copy. No warp but so far pressing fault causing 4 loud pops on first track and similar on side 2. Certainly looks like quality control were on holiday. What with all the reports of the CD not playing I think streaming is the safest option for this one. The music is great and I don't mind the SQ, it's like being there
  12. Thanks for posting this, I wasn't aware of it. Always happy to hear more Pursglove. Edit to add: I just purchased a copy after an initial stream
  13. Very special Great voice, troubled soul
  14. Playing it now. I've only seen Lovens play live once, with the Schlippenbach Trio, and it was a completely fascinating experience
  15. I might just get my copy out for the evening here, thanks for the reminder
  16. I'd like to seebher.bFound the couple of albums I've heard pretty interesting
  17. Well that edition has never sold through Discogs where 24 people have it in their collection but over 650 want it. Notes on the entry suggest a copy sold elsewhere for $9k earlier this year. Top price paid for the standard issue is £500. The power of bespoke art covers!
  18. Yeah, 2x 40 minute CDs but then people just complain about not getting enough music rather than listening to what they got. Kind of glad I went the LP route, @Pim's reports of warps etc notwithstanding
  19. I've only purchased through Bandcamp. A couple of ideas come to mind that might be worth investigating http://www.jazzhouserecords.co.uk/ https://www.prestomusic.com/ https://propermusic.com/
  20. Worth it for the cover alone!
  21. I miss Mr Crompton's presence here, if it is the same Jeff Crompton
  22. Literally just ordered a copy in the last 5 minutes having streamed it several times. Shame about the production issues but that's vinyl life 😃
  23. There's a download option
  24. ordered yesterday, arrived today. Great service from Honest Jon's as always
