  1. Artifacts - ...And Then There's This [Astral Spirits, 2022] dream band
  2. Nice Mombasa - Tathagata [Wind Records, Germany 1980] I don't know if this band are generaly well known but they're new to me. Lou Blackburn and Carmell Jones was reason enough to invest the £10. Repaying that investment several fold.
  3. David Sanborn - Time And The River [Okeh, 2015] A purchase prompted by @Rabshakeh and my unexplained need for a nostalgic reconnection with some Sanborn. Whilst it's not going to create many converts, there's some excellent music on this (at least one of the two vocal tunes doesn't fit), very well produced by Marcus Miller in a nice slick and shiny fashion that works very well. Some of it could almost be by one of the bands in the current London scene who seem to me to have been engaging with fusion a lot recently. The music world keeps turning. Certainly worth the (reduced) entry fee
  4. That's a great combination, hope you enjoy it
  5. How was Shabaka with AEOC? I knew he'd guested previously
  6. Cued up on Tidal now
  7. A step closer to it coming home...
  8. OK, so that lineup really grabs my attention
  9. Enjoyed the podcast. The book's just been pushed off the top of my to read pile by a new William Blake biography but I'll get there
  10. That's it, makes me smile too. he looks very satisfied with himself. I'll try and hear the music, I've just checked the line up
  11. Barry Guy/Anthony Braxton & The London Jazz Composers Orchestra - Zurich Concerts [Intakt, Switzerland 1988] and the by way of contrast, two of today's arrivals Randy Weston - Blue Moses [CTI Records, 1972] Milt Jackson - Olinga [CTI Records, 1974] something about the rear cover photo makes me think I'd like this album...not sure why, I quit smoking 20 years ago
  12. Reading could do with the one-legged version too
  13. Definitely help rather than blame. Review in a few days
  14. David Sanborn - Time And The River Swept up in a wave of nostalgia thanks to a post from @Rabshakeh, I thought I'd see what Sanborn's been up to more recently. It was cheap...
  15. But he's crocked for the rest of the season...
  16. Me too now. The 'Hideaway' album was a gateway from Bowie to Jazz for me. Just looked it up, I saw him in a rammed Town & Country club in 1992, it was great.
  17. Love the album, as I do nearly all of his
  18. Which I had forgotten and now having trouble unhearing it in my mind

  22. How's the Knoel Scott? I nearly bought it unheard yesterday I really rate that one. World Of Echo?
  23. That's such a good collection, shame about the label, to the best of my knowledge very grey market. I'd love to be corrected
  24. Thanks John, I'm still very much enjoying the others of his I bought from you 😂
  25. John, do you still have Lloyd McNeill's 'Asha' LP on a sale pile by any chance?
