  1. I received my very much delayed Harriott and Russell LPs from Jazz in Britain this week. Easily the most delayed order I have ever placed, 20 months! Not sure how JiB are doing generally but that sort of delay really isn't acceptable. They had all the excuses that other labels have experienced but none others have been delayed any more than 3 months. Makes me think they don't know what they're doing.
  2. It sounds good, I've not been disappointed by a TP yet I didn't know that, thanks for pointing it out
  3. That is a great album. My LP is a bit battered but the music shines through
  4. Terry Gibbs - El Nutto [Limelight, 1964 mono]
  5. Oh, I have a perfectly fine CD version too
  6. That's a cracking album so is this Tone Poet
  7. I did, this https://natbirchallmusic.bandcamp.com/album/the-infinite
  8. I shall, definitely
  9. Charlie Mingus - A Modern Jazz Symposium Of Music And Poetry [New Land, UK 2022 RE] This reissue sounds really nice. Good presentation too That beer looks nice...and i know the album is
  10. That's a great album. Keep following felser's recommendations for more that good too
  11. And very good it is too
  12. Everything But The Girl - Eden Loved this in 1984 (!!) and love it now. Tracey Thorn announced yesterday that they have recorded a new album for release next year. I am more excited than I probably should be
  13. Anteloper - Pink Dolphins [International Anthem, 2022] such a great loss but music was left and we shall continue to appreciate it
  14. Just brilliant
  15. Liking it a lot more on this listen, probably my fourth or fifth but after a break. Hearing a lot more originality, variation and subtlety in her playing now. Just bought the Tzadik to see how that is
  16. Listening to 'In the Soviet Union' now and enjoying a lot, despite Jarrett overplaying at points. All power to the public library system, my introduction to lots of Jazz. I went on to work in public libraries for 16 years ending up being the music buyer - lots more Jazz
  17. Having read this, I'm going to listen to that album again today. It's been a while
  18. Zoh Amba - O Sun
  19. Yes, I'd say that "spaciness" is part of the appeal of some of his music to me, but by no means all. Perhaps one man's spaciness is another's soulfulness. I enjoy his jauntiness too. It'd be a dull world if we all heard the same thing.
  20. That's Northern Europe for you - always grey it's why we're so much fun at parties
  21. The recent BNs are not setting my world alight either (although I've not gone deep into them) and I do feel there's been a general dip since he left ECM. I saw him just pre-Covid in Ronnie's and he was great live. During Covid I watched a couple of very good live streams and a great film put together for Pierre Boulez Saal and the berlin Jazz festival Absolutely this. These albums deserve repeated attention. I also agree about the Atlantics, beyond 'Dream Weaver' it all gets a bit much of a muchness
  22. You'll be asking them to brighten the colour palette next
  23. I agree absolutely about the ECM releases, they are uniformly strong, but then some folks don't like or readily dismiss that label. Not saying that's what leads to Larry Kart's take on Lloyd (I'm also surprised by such a blanket dismissal) but I know it's seriously coloured other people's opinions of artists on the label.
  24. This was a very smooth flight, just a touch of turbulence but with outstanding cabin crew
