  1. I like that Vandever album a lot. I think I may know of it because of an earlier post of yours. In which case, thank you
  2. https://dusttodigital.substack.com/p/presenting-beauty-to-the-world
  3. I often envy the great shows you see/have seen but this one is just unfair!!
  4. Absolutely anything by Musician. The gig I saw at the Vortex was one of the wonders of the world Yeah, me too. All of the suggestions by Steve and colinmce, except for Gayle who I was never convinced by. Ware on the other hand, completely convincing.
  5. I bought quite a few of that label about then but not that one. Any good? And I'll pick mine up at the weekend hopefully
  6. Another big fan of Code Violations. What happened to Thomas? Haven't seen his name mentioned for years
  7. Graham Stringer Hugh Trevor Roper Henry Threadgill
  8. That looks intriguing. Maalouf has left me behind in the last decade or so, so I may come back to him with this.
  9. Glad to see Zaum mentioned and the Quartet & Sextet/Babu Tri. There's a very nice Dunmall/Paul Rogers. More recently, I've enjoyed the releases featuring Nikolas Skordas. I agree about Haslam and the tárogató,
  10. I'm pleased to hear that, thanks
  11. waiting on mine, anticipation is high
  12. I'm probably too old to have musical heroes but Pharaoh was one and possibly the last living one. Such great music through all those Impulses and beyond. I was pleased that in his later years he continued to reach new audiences. Many plays of the Floating Points collaboration in the last hours I suggest, and for many that will be the gateway. The music lives on. Absolutely this, such a great thing to see
  13. That's where I've been going wrong...
  14. Was there talk of Pillars going beyond the original set of releases? I didn't realise that. Certainly his two most recent releases are back to Jazz but this was post-Pillars I think and it's not Jazz https://www.discogs.com/release/20291815-Tyshawn-Sorey-Alarm-Will-Sound-For-George-Lewis-Autoschediasms I suspect he'll continue to cross and blur boundaries
  15. Ahmed Abdul-Malik - The Eastern Moods Of [Prestige,1964/71 RE] Brotzmann/Van Hove/Bennink plus Albert Mangelsdorff - Couscous De La Mauresque [FMP, Germany 1971 RE]
  16. Looks like Rogue Art are trying out Bandcamp https://rogueart1.bandcamp.com/album/octobres Punchy pricing
  17. Tyshawn Sorey - Pillars IV [Firehouse 12 Records, 2018]
  18. First listen to this and it's excellent. The trio of Brice, Challenger and Glaser has three of my favourite players of their generation, I think (maybe they could add Rachel Musson and Percy Pursglove and make it a quintet of my favourites...). Really pissed off I had to miss the Oto gig
  19. This looks like it could be interesting https://thevinylfactory.com/news/john-sinclairs-detroit-artists-workshop-compilation-set-for-release/
  20. Not the first but definitely the last three. I can bring some UK craft ales along too
  21. Can I gatecrash?
