  1. Mion UK do similar sometimes, never figured out why unless for some reason they don't want to sell them just at the moment and it's easier than de-listing.
  2. The Monette Sudler reissue did well I think and also popped up on Instagram a fair bit, that's how I came across it. I suspect Ken McIntyre's Steeplechases might cross over too. But generally I agree the catalogue isn't necessarily for the kids.
  3. Not the first spin by any means, been digging in since it arrived just not posted it. As for Henderson's best Milestone album, that tends to be whichever I'm listening to at the time 😃 And yes that MJQ is lovely, a lot of them are
  4. Liking the new in situ photos Now onto: Byard Lancaster - Funny Funky Rib Crib [Palm/Souffle Continu, France 2024] courtesy of a very generous fellow board member
  5. Joe Henderson - Power To The People [Milestone, USA 1972 RE] Right now this is sounding to me like Joe's best album Picked up in a new to me record shop yesterday, always good to find another site to feed the hobby/habit/addiction...
  6. That Strata East band played London about 10 years ago and were predictably great. Aja Monet is a real talent to my ears
  7. I liked those Apfelbaum albums at the time, may still have one on the shelves to play
  8. Joe Lee Wilson lived in the UK
  9. That's a very special album that I should dig out again for a listen
  10. Anthony Blunt Guy Burgess Kim Philby
  11. Dave Grohl Hole Melissa Auf der Maur
  12. Just bought a UK pressing of 'Nuts about...' off the back of this discussion. Not sure why I haven't investigated Most before as I have a weakness for flute in Jazz
  13. Reckon they got the second letter wrong...
  14. Interesting line up. I enjoy the Floridis albums in my collection
  15. My first listen, casting from Tidal. I can actually hear both sides of the bass debate. It is audible, less so in the full on quartet passages but very definitely when it breaks down to a piano trio. And yes, it is a bit boomy but that doesn't detract too much for me, I'd rather it that way than thin or non-existent. Overall I'd say its SQ is one of the better recently discovered live recordings. The music itself is pretty spectacular. I'll be buying this.
  16. Exactly, money well spent
  17. £10.01 I didn't know I was going to spend too
  18. I was due to but have had to pass on my ticket.
  19. I ordered the new McPhee book from them yesterday. Pricey but an import
  20. Yeah, there's a real "mine is rarer than yours" pissing contest going on, it's laughable most of the time. Only a small handful add interesting text about the recordings
  21. Jeff Parker ETA IVtet - The Way Out Of Easy
  22. McDuff Macbeth Malcolm
  23. Thanks for the follow and the Chinen link
  24. Why is the double floor pile always there? It never leaves no matter how many I file. Glad it wasn't the rarities but any kind of damage is a pain
  25. Red House Painters - I I had this when released but sold it on in one of the great rock clear outs. Listening now, for the first time in what must be 25 years, I'm remembering what a beautiful album it is
