  1. Miles Davis - Miles In France 1963 & 1964 The Bootleg Series, vol.8 Disc 1. Courtesy of Amazon.it. Bargain of the week
  2. Other way round for me. I can resist the large format books but wave a nice box set in front of me and I'm all yours (even though I know I don't listen to them enough).
  3. I checked that Raushiek too, interesting. Sadly not so cheap to here
  4. I don't disagree, you're talking to an ex librarian. Which also means I have a tight acquisitions policy...rather an art catalogue or monograph in that space than a book of album covers (not that they're not necessarily art too). And with 30 years at best left on this earth I'm reckoning enough online resources will hang about for me if I do have an obi urge
  5. Not another "spiritual jazz" grail. Like so many others I bet it's hardly got a hint of the spiritual to it. Just marketing these days.
  6. Bet the link's dead now, shame. Another obscurity awaiting reissue
  7. Not heard to that one, any good?
  8. The first big Jazz box set I bought. Loved it then, love it now.
  9. Thanks, I shan't rush but if close by maybe have a look
  10. Is that their new 2nd hand shop? Depressing in concept, stock, location or all of the above?
  11. Thank you, I can't quite believe I've just paid only £23 for this set to be UK delivered. Even if it gets hit with customs that's less than £30 total!
  12. Yes indeed, I'd be looking to see if I had any of them rather than missing them. I seriously thought about getting it but then thought what purpose would it really serve other than something similar to the old playground "got, not got" with football cards. I felt the same about the big Brit Jazz book that was published recently. There's enough online resources available to see covers these days
  13. An interesting looking reissue label just starting to release downloads of albums from the King label https://180g-soundfuji.bandcamp.com/music @Rabshakehlooks like they may cover the era you were asking about up thread
  14. 'Fraid not, I resisted buying it, too much visual content and not enough text and I don't have a coffee table
  15. Baba Sissoko - Sahel Followed by
  16. Love that one Too right, my partner was never best pleased when the alarm went for the 6.00am drops
  17. Interesting lineup
  18. If only we were neighbours...
  19. That's one of the Mangelsdorffs I don't have
  20. It was at a sensible time here, he's moved it back so it's lunchtime no longer 6.00am!
  21. Solace in music and the other soul enriching parts of life, family, friends, arts etc. Also solidarity. Albert Mangelsdorff Quintett - Birds Of Underground [MPS/BASF, Germany 1973] followed by Sommer/Henriksen/Lundberg - Sounds & Sequences [April Records, Denmark 2024] Great to hear Arve back in a slightly more acoustic setting I wondered if it might be, well worth investigating
