  1. Interesting lineup
  2. If only we were neighbours...
  3. That's one of the Mangelsdorffs I don't have
  4. It was at a sensible time here, he's moved it back so it's lunchtime no longer 6.00am!
  5. Solace in music and the other soul enriching parts of life, family, friends, arts etc. Also solidarity. Albert Mangelsdorff Quintett - Birds Of Underground [MPS/BASF, Germany 1973] followed by Sommer/Henriksen/Lundberg - Sounds & Sequences [April Records, Denmark 2024] Great to hear Arve back in a slightly more acoustic setting I wondered if it might be, well worth investigating
  6. Love me some Eberhard
  7. Hearing this live was one of the most astonishing musical events of my last ten years. I miss Jaimie not making new music
  8. That lights the gloomiest of days, I'd say. Truly lovely music. Three good ones there
  9. 😁 it's touch or go, this or the studio recording by the same band I think. 5 DeJohnette leader dates down to 3 is the aim but may not be achieved Change of tack now, welcoming a new arrival Rolf & Joachim Kuhn Quartet - Re-Union In Berlin [CBS, Germany 1965]
  10. Next up in the stay or go pile Jack DeJohnette New Directions - In Europe [ECM, Germany 1980]
  11. James Newton - The Mystery School [India Navigation, USA 1980] James Newton - Water Music [Gramavision, USA 1986] James Newton Trio & Quartet - Binu [Circle Records, Germany 1978] A morning of Newton as part of an exercise to see what can be weeded from my collection - none of these, that's for sure
  12. Apt and a great album also
  13. Fantastic, just what I was looking for, thank you
  14. Just listened to it and can see why it may have confused a few Popsters at the time
  15. A lot to digest I'm finding. Several plays in and I'm not sure I've totally got it, it remains intriguing and interesting.
  16. Chuck E. Weiss Rickie Lee Jones Leee John
  17. Video unavailable here. That piece is probably the only Ives I could take a stab at identifying Just to add, I did listen to the new Denk recording this afternoon and enjoyed a fair deal of it so will be revisiting.
  18. Great, thanks Scott. I like a little project.
  19. It's on Tidal. So as someone who's been intrigued by Ives but never really engaged, where do I start?
  20. I think "Geezer" might have a different meaning over here, a bit shady, on the make possibly illegally, with an element of roguish charm. Maybe not! "Old geezer" is specific and slightly different. An old one of those above but more commonly generically used for old man, affectionately Divided by a common language again...
  21. Wow! If I had the wealth and the health to get there I'd be there in a flash
