  1. Are we taking beer or LPs? 😄 It makes me want to try the beer at least Just did a search, UK price is £20 for 330ml, is it really that good?
  2. I have always loved 'One World' as it was my entry point. I agree the earlier recordings are the strong run but I now find lots to like in some of the later albums too
  3. Good to hear it hit the spot
  4. A couple of sartorial bangers
  5. I've been enjoying digging into Sergio Armaroli's discography a bit more recently. Two interesting Hat Art releases Armaroli, Minton, Schiaffini, Turner - 'I Dream I Was A European' and his Quartet Prismo disc with Fritz Hauser, Martina Brodbeck, Francesca Gemmo There's others worth a listen on Leo too
  6. I think she kept the politics for her online posts, thankfully. I'm not sure I'd stomach it in person. She's never made any overtly political statements in her music as far as I've detected in the years I've been listening to her. I suspect I saw that same group in 1994 at the Jazz Café, I'm pretty sure I recall Burnham. I remember it was packed to the rafters and she had to make her way through the parting crowd to get to the stage
  7. But sounding like John Martyn's a good thing surely...? Not that I hear the comparison
  8. My favourite Charles Lloyd in there, the first tune will blow your mind
  9. Beautiful album. Such a great band
  10. They played a 50th Anniversary tour show in London Jan 23. I didn't go.
  11. One I bought after your enthusiasm for it here, so thank you. Now, those Satohs...
  12. Yes, indeed
  13. Me too. A big fan, waiting for some new work at some point I've even forgiven her for her non-appearance on the evening of a London Jazz Festival gig on my birthday, about 10 years ago. A subsequent Ronnie Scott's gig was very very special.
  14. You can say that again 👍
  15. All this love for Jethro Tull who I always think of as a band with such an almost quintessentially English sound that it always surprises me that they crossed over the Atlantic so much. I know they were huge at times. I liked them in smaller doses but when I did like them I liked them a lot, 'Aqualung' for instance.
  16. Stop it you two, I can't keep up 😭 More Satoh to investigate...
  17. Yes, mine is on now. Sounds great
  18. I might just get my copy out too, thanks for the reminder
  19. 3 CDs by Sergio Armaroli
  20. #3, no vibes player. I need my hearing tested
  21. I bought the LP of this recently. My first Satoh solo, very special
  22. Vilhelm Bromander - In This Forever Unfolding Moment [Thanatopsis Production, Sweden 2023]
  23. And how did I forgot The Balimaya Project. Possibly concert of the year alongside the Brotzmann
  24. I know them. This is a female vocalist, sorry wasn't thinking about his solo albums.
  25. It is. Pretty typical Texier, those rolling bass themes, some nice added wordless vocals which I'm not sure he's used before. One vocal standard and a lovely tribute to Carla Bley and Steve Swallow It certainly is
