  1. Whatever happened to Chris Hunter?
  2. David Mack - New Directions [Columbia, UK 1964 mono] Yesterday's purchase, in part due to positive comments by @sidewinder and @jeffcrom (miss his contributions) found from discussions long ago here. Third stream, 12 tone moderne. Wondering if @Teasing the Korean knows it?
  3. Me too now. Thanks for the reminder. It's good to dig out some KV, I have so many so rarely listened to, as I'm looking forward to seeing him at the Oto Brotzmann tribute weekend next month
  4. I have that somewhere (I hope), completely forgotten about it
  5. Joe Harriett Quintet - Movement/High Spirits
  6. I thought this rang bells...
  7. Just brilliant
  8. There's recordings on that label by others that I have tried to track down but it appears no UK distribution for physical formats
  9. Thanks, time to revisit
  10. How's that standing up these days? It made waves at the time
  11. I'm no audiophile as that purchase suggests, I spend too much on the music itself to afford higher specs. It's doing the job very nicely though
  12. Yeah, I get that
  13. Cambridge AXR100D
  14. I recently upgraded my amplifier from a 90s Denon and could hear the difference in separation and depth of soundstage immediately which makes a big difference to listening to larger ensembles, but not only them. I'm not in a position to upgrade my whole system regularly, my previous upgrade was my turntable 3 years ago, but when I can afford to I do. I've always been pleased with the results.
  15. Go for it, you deserve some compensation at least
  16. I enjoy albums on the label by Thumbscrew, Rob Mazurek, Jason Adasiewicsz Rolldown, Paul Dunmall. Definitely second the Mujician and Wadada Leo Smith recommendations
  17. Rachel Musson is very good I think. There's a fine duo album with Brice also
  18. It's very good everyone. Sorry I was out of town for the Oto launch gig
  19. That was well spotted from the car. Always good to give to charity...
  20. Tony Oxley Quintet - The Baptised Traveller [CBS/Realm LP] At last!
  21. Thank you. I ended up buying the Webber from Presto. They do seem the only alternative to Amazon I completely agree, lovely release
  22. Thanks John, good to hear you rate it, that's recommendation enough. Not sure how it has slipped under the radar until now.
  23. Ancient Infinity Orchestra - River Of Light Jiyu - Totem Of Quiet Mystic Levon Eskenian and The Gurdjieff Ensemble - Zartir Joe Harriiott - Movement/High Spirits Charles Lloyd - Trios: Chapel Charles Lloyd - Trios: Sacred Thread And yesterday from my favourite record shop, 1964 French press of Pithecanthropus Erectus and 1962 UK press of George Russell - The Jazz Workshop.
  24. Thanks for the reminder, just purchased 'Movement/High Spirits'
