  1. Extraordinary Popular Delusions, what a band
  2. Little Milton - Waiting for Little Milton [Stax] A new discovery Reading lots of positive responses to that set. I think it might be a bit too much of a good thing for me
  3. That's such a special album, time to get my copy out. Thanks for the reminder
  4. Hope it lives up to expectations, enjoy!
  5. Palle Mikkelborg, Marilyn Mazur, Jakob Bro - Strands, Live At the Danish Radio Concert Hall
  6. A classic
  7. 'Cool JoJo' is mainstream, straight ahead and rather marvellous No wobble on mine either
  8. That does look good
  9. Me too, and it's sequel. Read them decades ago, maybe worth a revisit
  10. Two rooms of Joan Mitchell at Tate Modern, just fantastic. We need a major show of her works over here. Before, Marina Abromavic major chronological retrospective at Royal Academy. For me an exhibition of two halves, the first half very impactful. The second half, a lot less
  11. Two very good albums right there
  12. You really should try listening to Fela Kuti. If "arrogant stage behaviour" is a reason not to listen to someone that would exclude an awful lot of good musicians, Miles for one.

  14. Billy Bauer - Plectrist As just mentioned in the Vinyl now playing thread
  15. I have and really enjoy 'Cool Jojo', is there anything else like that in his discography?
  16. That makes it sound particularly intriguing
  17. That's sad news. Always enjoyed his playing. Only ever saw him with the reformed Psychedelic Furs, by accident.
  18. Thanks but we're discussing Tyshawn Sorey not Sullivan Fortner whoever he is.
  19. The Necks at Kings Place. If you know the Necks you already know what it was like. No deviation from their compellingly hypnotic modus operandi
  20. How is that? One of the Togashis I have steered away from fearing a lightweight travelogue. It's probably streamable, I should look
  21. Really, I wasn't aware. Thank you. Do you know the label? I can't find any reference online.
  22. On that evidence, a fine pianist. A recording would be great
  23. Tyshawn Sorey, piano solo. At Oto, packed to the rafters. Played in the dark, 50 minute improvisation and then 15 minute encore. Extraordinary
