Move it straight to the front, it's that good
Something about a trip to Thailand or Indonesia? Although I may be mixing it up with a Tony Scott album
Also, don't miss out on 'One Tension' by the same band
Have you heard the long piano piece 'Permutations For Solo Piano' on 'That/Not'? Very Feldman-esque to my ears
And Cafe Oto the night after with Pat Thomas. That's the one I might try and get to
I discovered Rubikon through a recommendation here, possibly from you. An album I have listened to more than once, definitely.
I must check out the Roberts/Brice too, I had forgotten about it. Another issue with the slew of releases.
I forgot this from my earlier list
Caroline Kraabel & Neil Metcalfe - March
I seem to have focussed exclusively on UK improv this year, so far.
I like the look of a lot of them, Steve. I ordered the Prevost/Rowe at the weekend.
I wish 577 had better distribution here. They seem to be focussing on UK players too recently
I really enjoyed it. Especially the Cirillo tracks toward the end.
I'm a fan of those early Mingus with La Porta etc so this sat nicely with them
Next up, to accompany some work admin
Duane Tatro - Jazz For Moderns
Tom Waits, I assume there's not another album with that title. I was knocked out by that the day I bought the LP in the week it was released.
I can still remember listening to it with my mate, we were big Waits fans and Heartattack And Vine had hinted a little at a new direction but we didn't see the new sound coming at all
John Pope and John Garner - Water Music
Alexander Hawkins Trio - Celestial Carnival
Brotzmann, Bekkas, Drake - Catching Ghosts
Paul Dunmall - Meditations For Clarinets
Not yet but now I know about it and see it's on Tidal, I shall do later.
I think Blade is a terrific drummer but often feel that's a little hidden in the Fellowship
