  1. The Charlie Mingus Modernists - Jazz Experiment [Jazztone, 1957] a Noir soundtrack if ever there was one
  2. Just missed out on an LP of that. 'Visions' is a companion album, so I'm led to believe. Whether or not, it's very good.
  3. Neil Ardley - A Symphony Of Amaranths [Regal Zonophone, UK 1972] That's a good surprise. I should revisit the poetry & jazz, it was a bit too rich a mixture for me 20 years ago and I haven't tried since

    Gunter Hampel

    Thanks
  5. That Taylor, eh? Quite the improv queen
  6. A recent addition. It's quintessential Garrick with that British choral writing tradtion to full effect. My copy has the added bonus, to me, of all the musicians' autographs on the inside gatefold with dedications to "Derek" who was obviously involved in some way but isn't credited anywhere. I need to research who that might be. Any clue @sidewinder?
  7. Garrick's Fairground - Mr Smith's Apocalypse [Argo, UK 1971]
  8. Bet that's packed with whistleable tunes
  9. British Progressive Jazz serve up another must for Collier fans, a real time capsule
  10. Britain in black and white TV
  11. Thanks, I know 'Bars' but not the Vista nor the Schiano. I'll see if I can check them out
  12. Andrew Hill - Judgement! [Blue Note/Music Matters, 2013 45rpm] Von Freeman - Have No Fear [Nessa, 1975]
  13. That is fabulous. I wonder if there's other sleeves out there with other drawings, bet there is. Surely couldn't have done that on just one and left it at that.
  14. Thanks I found a copy from a Japanese seller on Amazon UK but at £25 Also, this https://youtu.be/e34pgd9ZC6s?feature=shared
  15. Albert Mangelsdorrff Quintett - One Tension [Amiga, GDR 1964 mono] no commas but with added "One" in title compared to non GDR releases Marcello Melis - Free To Dance [Black Saint, Italy 1978] This is such a good album, look at that line-up. So why haven't I played it in over five years I ask myself 😀
  16. I didn't know about this band, which is odd as I'm a big Togashi fan so thanks for making me aware. I shall be definitely investigating although they don't appear on Tidal so will have to look elsewhere Is this album the same as the 'Live At The Pit Inn'? I can't find it on Discogs
  17. In the GDR they had a different style, no comma on my Amiga copy
  18. Sun Ra And His Myth Science Arkestra - When Angels Speak Of Love
  19. I thought the original was the German CBS
  20. Albert Mangelsdorff Quintet - Now Jazz Ramwong [Amiga Jazz, GDR 1982 mono RE]
  21. Move it straight to the front, it's that good Something about a trip to Thailand or Indonesia? Although I may be mixing it up with a Tony Scott album Also, don't miss out on 'One Tension' by the same band

Have you heard the long piano piece 'Permutations For Solo Piano' on 'That/Not'? Very Feldman-esque to my ears And Cafe Oto the night after with Pat Thomas. That's the one I might try and get to
  24. I discovered Rubikon through a recommendation here, possibly from you. An album I have listened to more than once, definitely. I must check out the Roberts/Brice too, I had forgotten about it. Another issue with the slew of releases.
