  1. not even I was there to make that screendump!
  2. it could be worse!
  3. thanks for the pointer! Few other names in there besides the usual suspects, but at least Jan Ptaszyn Wroblewski is mentioned! Been spending several days cleaning up a recording of a 7" 45rpm of the man. Great stuff!
  4. amazon.de lists it twice as 2000 and 2002 releases. Available yes, but expensive too.
  5. hmm... the pipe smoker would now analyse your use of the words "srew" and "suck," together with "timid" in a previous post, and undoubtedly come to the conclusion that you are in denial...
  6. I just marveled at how a similar action can provoke such different responses. All the more because the topic actually belongs in this forum IMHO and not necessarily in the misc section, where it is now (twice). Instead of kicking someone in the eggs for missing out on a topic in the swamp that that misc section is, a nice little link sans comment would have done the trick too, I think. Nothing to get outspoken about, I'd think. But your doctor has a nice philosophy. He's not from Vienna and frequenting this board, is he?
  7. the "other person" deleted it because you came on quite harsh! not with like you did just now, but with didn't the doctor tell you not to get upset anymore? think of your health, man!
  8. welcome indigo! The sign-thread up for BFT 25 hasn't opened yet. Usually the sign-up for the next BFT starts just after the discussion on the current BFT has started. Depending on when .:.impossible posts his answers to the second disk of BFT 23, Ubu will start discussion on BFT 24, and I'm sure Rooster will follow with a sign up thread for BFT 25. My breakfast was a bit tamer with some Shelley Manne.
  9. if you click the [clip] links and change the ".html" at the end to ".mov" you end up with a direct URL to the clips, which allows you to download them to your harddisk for offline enjoyment.
  10. 1950, Hubert Fol & his Be Bop Minstrels record 4 tunes, reissued on the Kenny Clarke AmSwiParis CD (EMI) 1952, Bernard Peiffer records Toccata and Prélude for Blue Star (45rpm), reissued on La Vie en Rose (JiParis, Gitanes/Universal)

    Smooth Jass, ANY1?

    I prefer stoopid music.
  15. Thanks for the good news. Indeed impressive how he still allows for that after all the mishap.
  16. Practice, practice, and more practice! I'm practicing right now. the man said: practise more!
  17. I have been corrected already twice on this thread. Which is good!
  18. That's what the Lord and other sources say. The Blue Note Label Discography book (Cuscuna/Ruppli) says that this session (the one with Eddie Bert and Tal Farlow and Melle's first session for BN) was recorded on January 31, 1953. O the joys of Discography the booklet to the Complete BN 50s sessions mentions the Bert/Farlow session as the second one. The first session featured Bert, Manning, Wallington, Mitchell, and Roach plus Monica Dell, and was recorded on March 2, 1952, according to the booklet.
  19. 1952, Gil Mellé records four tunes for Blue Note
  20. common mistake by German speaking folks. Aktuell = current/active, not actual = eigentlich.
