  1. Book or DVD only. No good for CDs.
  2. I got this for 10 bucks at retail an I am extremely happy with it. I really enjoyed 'This is what I do' and this one didnt let me down.
  3. I just got Vol1 yesterday and I am very happy with it. Sound and all. I have already pre ordered Vol2, which should be released in a week here in the U.S.
  4. I'm a big fan of this date. I stumbled on this CD at the used CD store. I didnt know it existed. Underrated IMHO.
  5. I agree. This is way better than any other Trane compilation out there. Including Blue Train as the first track was a good choice.
  6. I just got this one and listened to it for the first time. Its late Satchmo, and it is very nice. Short nice solos, but lots of swing from Pops. Had me smiling in no time. Anyone here likes this album? How does it stand with other late period Satchmo recordings?
  7. Coupon is only valid for purchases over $40
  8. I got the recent 3CD box, 'If you've got to ask you aint got it'. I love the whole thing, but disc one is especially making me marvel at the great songs Fats composed. Other than this CD, the only Fats Waller I have is a live album called 'A handful fo Keys'. What should my next Fats should be? Thanks for the recommendations.
  9. Anyone can post a link (again) to a recommended site where one can pre-order these? Thanks!
  10. Still have 6 or 7 left to open. Listening to Charlie Byrd Pelos Passaros K2. Nice!
  11. Compared to those child abussing priests, these guys are probably saints.
  12. And the estate of Robert Johnson should follow by suing the Muddy Waters estate for claiming autorship of 'If I had possesion over judgement day'. And then....
  13. That would be my recommendation too.
  14. From Dylan's Rollin and tumbin: "The night's filled with shadows, the years are filled with early doom The night is filled with shadows, the years are filled with early doom I've been conjuring up all these long dead souls from their crumblin' tombs " "The landscape is glowin', gleamin' in the golden light of day The landscape is glowin', gleamin' in the golden light of day I ain't holdin' nothin' back now, I ain't standin' in anybody's way " From Dylan's Someday Baby: "I'm so hard pressed, my mind tied up in knots I keep recycling the same old thoughts Someday baby, you ain't gonna worry po' me any more" "Well, I don't want to brag, but I'm gonna wring your neck When all else fails I'll make it a matter of self respect Someday baby, you ain't gonna worry po' me any more " Just a sample. I think he can claim authorship to those 2 songs. Neither Muddy nor Robert Johnson nor Willie Dixon nor Lightnin wrote lyrics resembling that.
  15. I think it is. But the sound is much better on the Savoy & Dial set. It is muffled on the JSP set. I have both. I kept the JSP set for the early Bird sides, the first disc and half.
  16. I did. It SUCKS big time. Tastes exactly like cough medicine. AVOID.
  17. Its great. Bob is still writing songs that matter.
  18. And while they are it, can they rename 'Uranus'?. Im tired of the jokes.
  19. I was bored after 2 min. Wonder how much he gets from the KFC endorsment.
  20. I am listening to Miles 'Bags Groove'. I have listened to these sides for years, but since the tracks with Sonny are some of my favourite all time sessions, I decided to upgrade to the K2. WOW!!!!! Its amazing what they did to these sides sonically. They have a definition and clarity that doesnt exist in any other version I have heard, including the OJC. They sound like they were recorded yesterday. An amazing find.
