As a newbie to the Mosaic world, I have had a few items on my radar. Im almost ready to pull the trigger, but I thought I should ask first. How often are Mosaic sales? Is it predictable when the next one will be? I'd feel like a sucker ordering something now and find out that their next scheduled sale is in a couple of weeks or something.

I ordered a bunch of Ellington OJCs I had on my wish list. My order hasnt shipped yet tough, but everything was in stock when I placed it.

Deep discount (under the amazon moniker deep_discount_dvd_cd) is selling the 1941 Complete Standard Transcriptions for 3 bucks. This is a great 2 CD with the Blanton Webster band recording for the Standard Transcription Library in Hollywood. Great music, if just to hear alternate versions of the RCA classics, plus many other rare gems. I ordered mine and it arrived yesterday, new and sealed. Looks like they have more, so if you dont have this, definitely pick it up while it lasts: Ellington Transcriptions

Bummer I ordered this one instead. Anyone heard it? Is it any good? 2 disc set on Cleopatra. Appears to be OOP, but available used.

Any news on this one? Was it ever released or is it still on schedule for 2008?

Yeah, that's what I did. I placed a large order, (10 CDS ). I bought a couple of Ellingtons (the Blanton and the Latin suite) and a bunch of other OJCs I was missing. Price was $7 each including shipping. You cant beat that deal with a stick, I even ordered some limited OJC's. I'll keep an eye for the Masterpieces CD, as that seems to be the winner of the poll.

Certainly, this is one of Ellington's finest albums, but I think bluesbro may already have it. Yep, that one is included in the RCA box

I got maybe some 25 CDs, plus the complete RCA box. These are the most glaring omissions I think I have in my collection. I would suggest that the following would be ahead of the albums on this list: New Orleans Suite Jazz Party Historically Speaking The Jaywalker 70th Birthday Concert Do you have all of those? Only the New Orleans Suite, which isnt a favorite of the suites I've heard. I have to say that I am sucker for Duke's piano playing. So anything that puts him on the spotlight, is high on my list. Thanks for the recommendations!
