The Paramount box from Third Man / Revenant
Blue Train replied to cih's topic in Mosaic and other box sets...
You're welcome. Everyone should keep in mind the 1st and 2nd White Stripes record were dedicated to Son House & Blind Willie McTell. There are all kinds of Old School blues influences on White Stripes and other Jack White related recordings. P.S. Speaking of Old School....I don't think a single White Stripes record cost more than $75,000 to produce....and I am just being generous. I don't think took more than a few weeks were involved to record anyone of them. They were basically him and Meg White and a recorder in room a good deal of the time. As in, if anyone is going to be ripped off from this release....it is the estate of someone that probably did it for WTF? knows how many decades. And once again, I really doubt that is happening since with White involved the estate would be salivating. They could have filed an injunction to keep it from even being released while they sued. -
Schapp....ratio of actual music to Schaap being Schaap? I stopped bothering anytime Schaap was involved with anything on WKCR. HTF? does he still have a job? Have already commented enough on what I think of Zorn these days. He probably composed 50-100 things in the time I took to post this. As in, The Gnostic Preludes isn't close to being new and he doesn't play a note on it, but it's his name that is featured. Okay, I am beating a dead horse.

The Steelers had enough of Mike Adams....enter Levi Brown. Of course, the Cardinals traded him for next to nothing to a team desperate for any LT that can block anyone.
-
A shame his issues with Derek Bailey once again keep him from putting his name on the cover....like they were originally. Otherwise a must recording in my opinion.

Because he has a large fan base from White Stripes and all the other bands/projects he's involved with. A lot of people will probably be hearing these musicians/music for the first time because of his involvement. I mean; someone will eventually illegally upload it, like they do most everything else. I have a friend in the electronica field that releases his recordings on his own label.....sometimes as limited edition as 25 copies....and even those get ripped and uploaded....sometimes within an hour of release when they're downloadable from his site. One person even tried to tell him he was doing him a favor by getting his music out there. I am pretty sure Chuck, Allen, and Jim A. have all experienced the same. So, with as a much larger fan base that White has..... -
what are you drinking right now?

A great site to use to hunt things down. Not knowing what part of Delaware you're in and just how much you want it....there are 3 places under 80 miles from Delaware have it listed as of today. Keep in mind it's not perfect. Call first before doing any driving. http://www.beermenus.com/ This one is in Philly. It claims it has the WWS, 120, Warlock, and even a Cigar City and some other to hard to find stuff. . http://www.moorebeverage.com/ -
Injuries to too many key players and it was already rebuilding time after going 8-8 last season. The OL is really a mess. Silver lining/cup half-full @ least right now they're in a 3-way tie for the #1 pick, and they have extra picks next year. Worst case scenario right now is they drop to a pick that will let them draft someone to replace Mike Adams. As in, Lewan, or Matthews.

I think the correct question is.....what is wrong with "pretend" mono of something some of you have bought just how many times now? It's like asking, "what's wrong with auto-tuning"? What's it going to be in 2019....to make it possible to ring the bell and get them to buy it again?

In this day and age, I wouldn't be surprised if it ends up online for free (especially with White involved)....and the programs thing are really not that difficult to get around. -

Exactly. Like most everything.....the pdf's could have been found using the cached feature, but you can't even do that. -
I think you're thinking of the 1990's Mastersound releases.
-
Translation: We have gotten these people to buy this 9,999 times already and it's only been 4-years from the 50th....how can we once again hoodwink them? I have an idea....let's release a mono version. Are you crazy? We don't have any mono tapes! No worries....we can master down the stereo to mono and call it mono. We can do it!!!!! ^10,000. Then, we can do it in SACD, XRCD, SHM.... Still the same music they all heard 10,000 times before, but they will buy it. Come on....us engineers can make people that have no business singing, or recording....like they can....and in tune! P.S. Just how many years until the next KOB hoodwink occurs, and they can ring the bell again? 60th Anniversary is under 6-years away.

Today: Had a bigot post homophobic posts. Then there was your posts that you don't get are full of shit. In the meantime....someone sent me a pm about Down's. Him/her I will have fun with from now on. Put me on ignore. I don't get why anyone needs to announce, or bring it up....or why they think anyone cares....it's like people announcing they're not going to post on board again, but still do....it's like begging for attention, or having people beg you to not go....I could care less, and I know none of you can help yourselves. Just this week 3 people so desperate for attention that they already claimed to have me on ignore, and/or they were no longer posting on here.... Just how easier to really put me on ignore without all the look @ me? P.S. Me and GS actually had a nice conversation. Just goes to show. -

The funny thing is you were a FB "friend" for close to 6 months. I suddenly became the anti-Christ when the thief and his board came up. I went from "friend" to to anti-Christ so quickly (as in, one day)....and I haven't posted any differently about the whole reissue/remastering/engineers fetish thing in my entire time of posting. -

Oh yeah, it;s my fault. Try checking how many joined/stayed long before me. It's not pretty what all of have been doing. I can't get a single person to join this board. -

I was referring to your constant puffing up against the Hoffman board and Hoffman. Start another thread about that or put it in the thread about the Hoffman board. As for the rest, I don't need your advice on what I should spend my money on. Constant? Just how many times have I posted about the thief and his board? @ best, it's like the 3rd to 5th time....but only after those @ the altar bring up the thief, or his board. You can waste your money on the whatever you want for the 10,000th time. You can also continue to be like the rest and make sure Jazz does get past just smelling funny. I really get the feeling if anyone was actually in the studio they would still want something better. Once again, amazing how many of you really go out of your way to keep people from joining/staying....or wanting to learn about the musicians/music. This one is the one I will never understand. @ least you didn't go down the bigot's bigoted road. -

Better watch out. I am super scary! The worst thing is I keep pointing out just how much they keep anyone from joining/staying, or just enjoying/learning about the actual thing that is allegedly the most important thing....the musicians/music! -
I rest my case....but why I am not surprised the bigot posted this?...and yet another person who claimed he was putting me on ignore after I pointed out he was a bigot. P.S. For the Moderators, or Jim A....I don't want this deleted. I want everyone to see what this member is really like. Where are your sources for the alleged non-existence of the mono tapes. Only Kind Of Blue seems certain to be lost I think.

I am not the one that has wasted hundreds/thousands buying the same thing over and over....or live @ the alter....just how much of that money could have gone to help an actual living musician, or anyone....instead of feeding the fetish? I actually enjoy the music.....we're talking about music recorded when? -
Literally....no actual mono tapes will be involved. Not a single one still exists. It's all mixed down to "mono". Spending whatever to buy a mixed down version of what you already bought x times....priceless? Really amazing people who keep buying the same thing x times to get that alleged "best sound" don't think it's a fetish. It honestly is amazing just how many of you don't get how you're what is wrong with what is going on. It's like with Pavlov's dog with reissues.

Things are getting crazy. They had cops dressed as Seahawks fans when the Niners played them....after Dixon called them the Shehawks. Last year, it was Culliver. When SF makes Oakland look sane....it's WTF? time.
-
But you keep buying it to give it to them.
-
They will sign him, but it's going to be a lot closer to their price/years....unless the Dodgers go crazy. No other team will even come close to $150 million over 6-years for a 2nd baseman.
